Go to the various fishing museums, like the one in New Brittanian Market, and see all of the fish in the game, and the location caught.

Due to the excessive RNG required to get a trophy fish, bait is basically irrelevant.

Where is best fetid water spots?

...I would like to know where this whale is as well

 

I don’t know if it’s the best, but Mud has Fetid Water. Quite a bit of it.

 

Fetid is a waste except for the South Fetid Swamps or whatever it is out near verdantis Shardfall the south one, the river in the middle runs the whole length and is fishable, everye where else is just a Pain in the Ass

 

Yerrper South Fetid Swamps anywhere else and your are wasting your time.
