Tier 6 lich totems

I've heard many were sold I’m wondering how this will be handled. Apparently someone paid a million gold for one, I’ve also heard of RMT transactions for them. Though I’d like to see them go away since it was by not testing the recipe before launching this item that really caused this.

Might be better just to leave the few that are in idk but you should not punish the people who bought these not every one follows twitch and they obviously didn’t know they were easy to get.

Why would they be punished? Tier 6 is valid per Chris and the item is trade-able.

I've personally seen 2 of them for sale for aroumd 2.4MM. Kind of a crazy high price I think. I think it takes around 6400 essences to make a tier 6, so the price should be something like:

100g/essence - 640k
200g/essence - 1.28MM
400g/essence - 2.5MM

Seems high for the prices I saw on vendors, but it is definitely a rare and hard earned item by the crafter.

 

If I understand it correctly:

L1 = 100
L2 = 400
L3 = 1600
L4 = 6400
L5 = 25,600
L6 = 102,400

Right? Every level is 4 of the tier before it.

 

The problem- the recipe was wrong for a day.

100 kobald essence made the tier 6 lich totem.

People bought sold traded for these they said they will be wiping them the only real losers here are innocent players who did not know about the issue.

 

There was a bug that was causing another recipe that is much easier to make to produce these totems, and people were selling them before the bug was fixed.

 

Eh. Tricky ****. Every solution is a bad one.

 

Need a api that shows hand to hand trades, then it’d be easier to handle

 

I don't know what the best solution is, but this was very obviously a bug that some people were knowingly exploiting while transferring risk to other players without informing them of the risks. I saw one person advertising the totems in traders channel, with no mention at all that there was anything unusual about it. Some people probably got duped, while others probably knew and were just taking their chances.

 

Id use the api to find who sold em and nuke thier wallet. Perfect opportunity for a gold sink \o/.

 

I agree if anything hit the sellers, but to be honest portal is to blame here and not the players.

It *does* clearly state on the In-Game MOTD not to buy the T6 Lich Totems because they are going to be replaced with T1 Kobold Totems.

I don't know when they added that message, but it *is* there.

 

Well yea, in the same sense its not a dog’s fault he ate a hershey bar because the owner left it out


If it has said in the MotD not to buy them yet then they should just delete them. If theres a sign up the dog can read that says do not eat chocolate, then its the dog’s fault at that point.

It was just added Many were sold and traded prior to the MoD.

 

Its unfortunate but we've seen these kinds of bugs before. Those who were taken for major gold can submit CS Tickets to Chris, major offenders will be looked at and dealt with if needed. At this point if the recipe is fixed, all we can do is try to educate others not to buy them, which this does.

 

Just have to be careful because I know several made only one or honestly not knowing about a recipe issue, the sellers on other hand idk not for me to decide their intent.

I would skip any “punishment” personally and just make a note to better test recipes before launching.

 

Correct, i'm not advocating anything. Just saying if they need to they can, keeping the panic level low. Happy Monday!

However that being said, release content should be placed on QA, not in patches days after LIVE release. Darkstarr continues to correct Chris when he states that content is missing the release window, however, these are the things that happen when you use a week of QA to only test the stability of Unity and drop ~50% of the content on QA a couple days before release. Patching new content into live servers is a bad habit and its gotten worse over the past 6 or so releases. Its in the release notes but not in the game on release day.

I would advocate they need to leave QA up, patch the new content as a developer finishes it (not after a lockdown) and let people burn it in over several weeks, not days.

 

I dont like bugs like this because the economy is already small

Too bad this news had to come out on April 1. Always fun to try and determine what is true.

 

That is exactly it. Nobody rightfully farmed 100k Lich Essences in a month and creates a real T6 Totem did they? I mean if they did, the list would be small and it should be easy to track the creation of all those level 4 and 5 totems made before it. They could be re-granted the item if it was valid.
