It does take a while to load o_O Can you describe your system more?
Every time I load the game I have to check to see if I have space on my HD for it. It's gotten allot better in recent releases. I play from Thailand, so I doubt it's a connection issue.

You're going to have to tell us a lot more than that. It works fine for the rest of us, so it must be your computer. Maybe if you told us more, like RAM (which you did, 8GB is barely enough, 12 or more is a really good idea), CPU, disk, video card, etc. Speccy is a good way to get a lot of info about your system, just save as text file and post that:

    https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download

It works okay for me on a good 2012-era computer (Intel Sandy Bridge) and Nvidia 10xx series video card to a 1920x1080 monitor.

I'm sorry you aren't able to play the game. About a year and a half I got a new computer. I have 32 gb ram and an Nvidia 1060 for graphics. I also play this game on an ssd. So I know it is not feasible for everyone to upgrade and I did it personally so I could play anything I wanted for years to come. *crosses fingers*. Not everyone can upgrade so if you give a little more information to us players can better advise you. Best wishes and I am Majoria in the game If I can help.

It may take less RAM on Windows but for me (Linux) it takes more than 11 GB just to think about loading the game.

Also, there are two different clients - a 32 bit client and a 64 bit client. The 32 bit client will not work at all! (even on Windows)

that will not do... this is a modern mmorpg created with the latest 3d game engine powered by Unity 3D... you'll need at least 16 gb of ram... the latest NVIDIA graphics card and an SSD... ;)

I got 8gb ram on two PCs and both can run well if I dont multi-task much like its hard to watch twitch for example and if I am using chrome no more than 2-3 tabs on chrome while SotA is opened

But you got to run on Fastest or Fast setting if you got 8gb

Also one of my 2 PCs has SSD(240gb) and obviously, it loads faster

In addition each PC has 2gb vram independant from main memory(not integrated)

If he plays through a laptop that has 8gb ram, most likely that 8gb is shared with video card

When people are talking about RAM, are they speaking of the RAM on the mainboard, or the video card? Both need to be fairly high (and SOTA never liked integrated graphics).

When I upgraded the video card, and increased from 2GB GPU RAM to 8GB, I found that the main RAM used substantially less for the game. Then there's the question of the bus speeds, and how long it takes to load everything into the card.

And the most important part that hasn’t been mentioned yet is the cpu. Unity is very dependant on the power of the cpu, more than the guy. That is slowly changing, but the characteristics of the cpu is important.

Checkout out the faq for the minimum and recommended requirements to play the game. Minimum means barely able to play in this case, and with minimum graphics capabilities.

    Minimum:

    • OS: Windows 7 64 bit or newer
    • Processor: Quad Core 2.4 GHz or faster
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: DirectX 11 Compatible NVIDIA 960 / AMD 560
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection (Not required for Offline Mode)
    • Hard Drive: 22 GB available space
    Recommended:

    • Processor: Quad Core 2.8GHz or faster
    • Memory: 12 GB RAM
    • Graphics: DirectX11 Compatible AMD Radeon R9 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
    • Hard Drive: SSD

Says 8 but if ud ask me I’d say 12, I had 8 and maxed out the memory a few times then I upgraded and noticed huge increase in performance. Though a ssd isn’t required if you want to enjoy the game with out a load fest fiesta get a ssd.

8GB RAM here, SSD, high end video card. Ran fabulously until last release. Now, 99% physical memory use and 100% pegging of windows 8.1 swapfile.

I reckon you're frustrated, hence the tone of your post. Your RAM is fine. Scenes will take longer to load and you might get some hang-ups, but plenty of people are playing the game with 8GB. On Win10, I've never exceeded 10GB (I have 16 on tap). However, you should bear in mind that marginal resources means marginal room for error. If something else is chewing up your resources in the background, your experience is always going to be awful.

With no information, nobody can do anything but guess, but it sounds like you either have (A) a bad install or (B) something else is eating up your system resources.

I don't see a discrete graphics card in your list there... That could be a tell.

That usually wouldn't prevent you from logging in.

BUT (and it's a Kardashian-sized but) your integrated graphics is cutting out a chunk of your system RAM for loading textures and pretty things like that. Now that could be a serious problem for you.

Try going into the Options and graphics menu. Set everything to minimum and the resolution to 720p.

Nothing can really be determined until you try to enter the game while monitoring your system resources. Good luck to you.

I've been playing with this laptop since the beginning.

    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz (4) System RAM: 16264
GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family GPU RAM: 1136

Works decent on fastest setting. But I have to fiddle with everything to get it to stay fairly smooth. A couple months ago I started skipping like crazy, but I started using a stand with a fan and it stopped completely.
