Is june work on crafting release ?

''... so that was a thing we talked about today, this is one that its really been pushed because there were some strong opinions on what this means and how its gonna work between Starr and some team members....and again we talked it out at the meeting today ..so what were gonna be trying to do is this release were hoping nail down the information on crafting stuff and then probably unless our plan changes were gonna start rolling out the major crafting changes, one or 2 schools per release going forward ...we will hit the most popular ones first but it will not all be in there at once ...im working on a plan also to add some other options in there ..

We need to make skill more meaningfull or add more choices ..theres alot of stuff we need to do ... we dont have an end game for crafting right now that makes feel like youre being rewarded for being an end game crafter..these are the problems were trying to solve , i think by the end of june we can probably talk about an actual road map and explain what its gonna mean so we can start getting feedback.''

    RANDOMS IN CRAFTING

''...That is a tough point because if we remove any randoms from crafting ..everything in crafting is absolute and you basically always get what you want the first try ..without randoms crafting becomes ...linear ..if we add more randoms to crafting were probably gonna be adding more stuff like your enchantments.... and this is the short version ..i was hoping to add some enchantment options that will show up in there so it will increase the number of options you can have in there ...''

    RMT Forum Changes

Chris last stream timestamp 2h:43 min

''One of our biggest CS problem we have is the people complaining that they got scammed and they come to us about it because we let them post in our forums so were looking at options or ways to improve that but thats actually something thats been talked about is pushing that stuff out ..not saying were gonna ban you or anything just pushing out of the forums and not making something were new players come in and get scammed in our forums cause then it looks like ..its in our forums so obviously were responsible for it...not trying to wipe out rmt stuff just push it out of our forums...

part of it is it doesnt have any place ..and we do not condone rmt stuff we just said we dont want to police it im not sure how we got to the point where we have rmt stuff supported in our forums ......

...the rmt coto sellers are undercutting us as well...that is some people who speculated like back during the time when we had a sale on crowns but alot of that is people who farm gold and then go and buy coto and then sell them cause they can get more for them that way but its pretty much the same thing...

...thats the whole problem that we have, there are a couple of guys that we consider trusted traders ...the trusted trader guys we do support but they actually have stuff that go through us and get approval for stuff and we have to approve those people..but none in forum who advertises there is a trusted trader and thats kinda the whole thing..we just need to CLEAN them all out..anyways we will make an announcement soon....''

I liked what I heard on crafting spec - looking forward to hearing what they have in mind.

On the RMT front the game can't afford to lose players or suck up limited customer support resources in dealing with scams.

    2 questions for you Elrond.

    1. From what you saw, and being one of the big crafters in the game, did you like what you heard, or is this simply another patch that wont solve anything?

    2. Which stream was this? Today's? I would like to go watch that portion as well, and I started to work again so I have less time, pin pointing will help.

I have been playing the game, as most have, since the beginning.
I have been trading/RMT for a few years here with zero issues.
It is not hard to keep from being scammed.
People just need to be smart when dealing with others.
It will be harder for people to know who is a legitimate RMT trader if the forum is closed. A compromise could be to allow legitimate RMT to advertise their websites, but not direct sales on the forums. This will help curb the ease of unknowns scamming people.
RMT is part of this game regardless of how some people feel about the "Evil of RMT". :)
It is part of the game. Taking away RMT from the forum will cause less interest in the game from a considerable amount of people.
DONT TRADE with someone you DONT KNOW.
If it is too good to be true??? It probably is.
Don't trade real money for game money with people who have no forum presence.
Completely closing the forum to legitimate RMT will cause more scams. It will not prevent it. It will also be harder for the community to know what is going on.
This is NOT Port's problem to deal with. Don't send them support tickets.

There was a RMT sale thread recently I saw with a new user, first post, profile page blocked.

Basically these are the people that will try and scam you. If you are a buyer use your grey matter and apply some basic checks on the seller!

I check forum profiles before making a trade. I wouldn't trade with someone who doesn't have a remarkably good and long history in their profile unless they agree to hand over the goods first and get paid second. Which is something that trustworthy people do (did that a few times). Basically, in case of doubt, the one that is less reknowned pays or delivers the goods in advance. This would be much harder or even impossible if this forum was not involved. The RMT forum IMO is a safety measure for buyers.

I would rather RMT was removed altogether and no longer permitted. Never been a fan of that aspect of the game. Especially as Port doesn’t (and can’t now) monitor transactions. And it’s not really bringing much of anything back to Port to help them financially.

Most games have that, and it does not stop it from happening at all.

It saddens me to see some of our high-end players have a more difficult time of things in the RMT, because it does take quite an effort to play the game they play within this real world market.

I'm not a fan of RMT, yet that's only because I don't play our game at that level.

I don't want to see the player recommendations go from our forums!

I do hope our Portalarium keeps something that will allow us to help police each other.

Outside website or not, I'd never recommend that anyone do real world business without having known them ingame for a very long time.
I consider myself a "Fan of Many Fan Clubs" when it comes to great players and I make sure they know of my favors for them too.
It's our recommended relationships that must be preserved.

The Fellowship Must Be Preserved or our game suffers into a Buccaneer's Den of thieves in it's reputation.
For better or for worse, we are all tied together at the hip, what's good for one, is good for the other!

    1. Chris said they are gonna present what they want to do with crafting at the end of the month ..probably next release they will have some changes ( may not be big changes) with follow up releases bring in the bulk of the crafting changes ...in his stream he only speculated about how he would like crafting developed so nothing is certain . From what i heard i think these will be good changes because they will stimulate the economy . As of now people take their skills to 120-130 and thats that , very few who invest time or gold in their crafting skills ... by making higher skills matter more will incentivise people to spend more to develop their skills either through time spent ingame or through gold ... I think this is a good idea .

    2. Yesterday stream ...time stamp not sure maybe half way through the stream .

I was disappointed that Star has been saying for the last year ....crafting spec, pick your affects. Chris rolls all that back and says... we are going to add more affects at higher levels.

More affects cause more randoms and make it harder to get the combination you want.

I am interested in seeing the actual design. I hope it will be a written forum post instead of a verbal two minutes of a stream. I hope the changes are well thought out and make crafting better.... more fun... more satisfying. Let me build the item I want without 1000 failed attempts.

The trade sections have at-your-own risk disclaimers at the top, but people don't read, and just assume that Port will honor any exchanges that were made without their involvement. Then on top of all that, the insanity of using PPFF for the exchanges, further forfeiting any fraud protections. It was always a distaster waiting to happen. It's surprising it took this long for scamming to take root.

I hope RMT stays on the forums. I don't understand people that complain to Portalarium when they get scammed. The marketplace forums have "Exchanges are at the players own risk" right there at the top of the page. If you don't read, or choose to believe that what is written doesn't apply to you, and quit the game because of it, well... so long and good riddance. My experience with RMT transactions has been flawless thus far, and I appreciate the maturity and integrity of our player base.

On top of that, whether one thinks a person wasn't being diligent enough, that person's likely to blame Port and leave.
