I stopped blacksmith at a 128 and raised it along with salvage to 120 then called it a day. It’s much easier to craft my own chain or plate then contact one of the above experts and have them enchant/MW the armor/blades in my case.

Just ensure you bring all the mats and I prefer to tip them with 20 gold and silver bars for their time and effort. I get what I want and they get skill gains mats and the pride of having a repeat happy customer.

@Scoffer how much crafting xp and silver ingots did you use to get to where you are?

    Full Breakdown!

Base Blacksmithing skill from 1-145 = 88.4 Million
    Repair from 1-100 = 1.2 Million
    Salvage from 1 - 120 = 8.1 Million
    Masterwork (chance) 1 - 140 = 54.9 Million
    Masterwork Blade 1-132 = 25.6 Million
    Masterwork Plate 1-121 = 8.9 Million
    Masterwork Chain 1-140 = 55 Million
    Masterwork Shield 1-111 = 3.5 Million.

Total spent for 1009 total skill levels = just over 245.5 Million in the blacksmithing tree.

As for ingots used.....If I try and estimate I will probably be crying for a week so lets just go with "lots"

There were some spreadsheets floating around a while back that showed how much xp was needed to GM so you could put in your levels for each skill and put in a target level and it would calculate how much xp was needed. These should still be kicking around in the player created resources section (I made my own and it has 100's of other things on it)

This is a cap without calling it a cap. Even on adventure skills I am pounding all my xp into a certain tree because I want to be good at it but the modest gains for millions of xp hurts me emotionally! Soft caps are caps; especially with attenuation.

You friend have earned those mad crafting skills! Well done!

My "A" row is at 77 and has a green up arrow, my "B" row is trained (currently 1) and set to green up arrow. But the "B" row is not increasing when I perform an action. Why? Pls and thanx.

In the case of blacksmithing, your tier 2 row of repair, salvage, and masterwork requires a specific activity to trigger the allocation of experience into those skill buckets. To boost repair, repair an item at a blacksmithing station, to boost salvage, salvage an item at a blacksmithing station, and to boost masterworking get the blacksmithing masterwork recipe, then use 5 silver ingots and a craftable blacksmithing item to give it a masterwork trait.
