I get +52.8% attack speed from Flurry with no negatives.

I went light with Fustian cloth. Air shield FTW. As an archer healer i have all the movement and shielding i need. Without Air shield it would be a waste of time IMHO.

Imho; if you are an archer or mage you need the light armor. I gmed light armor a while back and then compared its damage output (Fleet Flute, Flurry, Haste Potion) used engage opponent as well. If you want to look pretty as melee go for it. I will stick to zerker on its way to 140 soon along with strength based bronze chain over any light armor. Give me the bonus to Zerker from tactics spec any day.

Not here to look pretty though the Darkstarr chain set look nice. Here to kill things as fast as possible before they come out of body slam. R/Boris/El Pirata.

P.S. Give me Legendary Sword of Speed and Shard of Night and I will tell you a story once I have them.

I swear there was a comment from Atos at some point that he'd make it so Haste + Flurry can't stack after a certain point because it was too powerful, but I haven't been able to find it (or the point at which that occurs) again.

I agree @Mishikal , however I know several people who do it. Our Tank is primarily a fire mage who wears plate chest, cloth on the rest , sometimes dual wands, sometimes wand and a shield. Guy is virtually un-killable. This game isn't really about class specific armor sets, its about Min-Max. If you want to be a successful PVE or PVP, you have to crunch the numbers and follow the truth they tell. I stick to leather armor and a bow because THAT is the character I want to play. If I were smarter, I would play a plate wearing Fire/Life mage and dominate all.

hmm I have tried both heavy and light as a mage. Myself I prefer the light cloth. I tank dragons, trolls, and pretty much everything in cloth with out issues. I do know chain has perks but its not worth the loss to me of the extra crit in exchange for avoid .

Wearing full cloth will always be at least situationally useful since it's the max damage option for mages, but that's a lot different than the light armor tree being balanced. Even if the light armor tree was completely empty, full cloth would still be the max damage option for mages and situationally useful, but it would obviously not be balanced.

being enough to tank a dragon, wearing heavy armor is gonna let you do the same thing, +give you more health, +mitigate even more damage.

I can kill dragons in light armor without any heals or magic shields as well, but that's because all if its attacks can be dodged.

Yes. Unicorns, phoenix. I did manage the phoenix once, but it was rough. And daemons, thougn I can manage them about a quarter of the time. Or high level areas with multiple mobs. I can solo a dragon, but not four or five elite skellies. My damage output is high, but when i stsrt grtting crit on a bunch i go down quickky, even with close to 1k health.

I think the only thing I have issues with is Unicorns, which is because of magic resistance. even though I can still high hard with my sticks (wands) because of my bludgeon its not anywhere near what melee classes can do so I suspect I wont be able to do them for a long time.
