Ultima Online was certainly fun in it's day but it doesn't hold up against Shroud of the Avatar.

Not to burst your bubble, but they are sadly 2 releases late now. Whilst I don't bother about these things personally, Twofold is not wrong in his statement.

I don't have a bubble, Thanks. And there is nothing "sad" about the fact that those things for E2 ( which again is do, last I knew years end), were pushed back to improve existing issues and rightly so IMHO. And if E2 gets pushed back as they improve and fix many of the existing issues, then fine with me.
Continue to believe as you will, as will I.

I played UO, and loved it back then, pledged to this game because it brought back alot of old memories. Even though its not the same it has many things from UO I liked. Im here because I find this game to have a lot of everything that other games dont have in one place. i have never played a game as long as this one and usually hop mmo's when I get bored. Here I am 4 years later still playing so they did something right :)

i remember playing ultima 1 and 2 on a 286, maybe it was a 386. ultima 3 and 4 on the c64, and all the rest on all the rest. i stuck around on this project until the official launch.

it was like the old saying if a tree falls and no one is in the forest, does it make a sound?

i was in the forest, the tree fell, and still no sound.

i voted no because i am not still playing this game.

That's a bogus vote and doesn't answer the polls question. If your NOT playing you shouldn't vote. The question is pretty clear.

I find I'm asking this of myself more and more. If I hadn't purchased bundles, I'd probably have given up a while ago.

I was drawn here because of my love of the Ultima games, UO mostly, which this isn't a patch on currently. Didn't vote and can't justify the time playing until there is some commitment to gameplay outside of cosmetics, crafting and fluff.

Bogus vote. But that's great. A vote no for UO is a vote for SOTA!

I voted no. I joined this game and left UO because my friends from UO told me about it and I was interested in the format of the game. But I've never felt that anything in this game has invoked nostalgia for UO. It's different.

I am here because this is a fun game that I enjoy and enjoy seeing how the game is built. I love the online POT creativity that SotA gives me. Adventuring is great and fun. I have completed the story so I am just making up my own adventures throughout the lands.

I love the OFFLINE mode too.

I'm here cause I've never seen a game like this one and it's the most fun I've had in a game ever. I didn't play UO so I'm not nostalgic for something I didn't experience

Never played any Ultima game, had never heard of Richard Garrett. Not even a role player, not played pen and paper role playing game since I was 15.

I like MMO sandboxes and player economies. After 13 years of Eve needed something with less time investment. Played archage, and enjoyed it, but the gear grind broke me, wasn't going to pay to win.

Found this game on Marker Dragon channel, had watched him because of Eve.

Gave it a try. Liked it, grow to love the flexibility of the deck system, after I climbed the steep learning curve. But I came from Eve, this is a ramble up a hill compared to North facing cliff face of the eve learning curve. Combat system reminded me a lot of Eve ship fitting and theory crafting.

Have agreed/liked the general direction of the game in last 2.5 years since I started. Yes there are problems, no I don't like every decision. But the general direction of travel is towards the kind of games I love.

I started eve 6 months after release, this game had more to do 1 year before release than eve had when I started. Comparing new MMOs to MMOs with 10+ years of continuous improvement is far from fair. If you don't like the bumpy road of the first 3-5 years of a new MMO I understand, I actually quite enjoy the rate of change and challenges it brings.
