My wife is quick to share frustration when I make her wait a whole 'minute' while I buff up. She just charges in but I feel like I am not going to do the best I can unless I am completely ready!

Thinking boss fight or a tough room...I am charging up:

    1. Glancing Blow
    2. Elysium Illumination
    3. Berserker Stance
    4. Aetheric Feedback (this one charges fast but I usually only go 1/2 way)
    5. Fortify Defense
    6. Douse
    7. Immolation (this one takes forever)
    8. Ignite Weapon
    9. Inner Str (no charge)
    10. Air Embrace (no charge)
    11. Celestial Blessing (no charge)
    12. Fire Elemental (if he's not up)

Then I have to go out of combat, switch decks. I also need to look at Purify as someone told me it gives an anti-death buff....irk. This doesn't even count pots if I use them (wolf speed, magic/elemental protection, might, deftness, acumen, regeneration imbued)….

I guess it can take sometime! Anyone else do all this??

maybe not all that, but at least half that number. Also, don't forget the time it took to go get shrine buffs, and eat 2 different foods. (and potions)

Berzerker stance, douse and MAYBE aetheric feedback dont need to be charged up, single stack does the same as a 5 stack. airs embrace does get better and last longer with charge

Yeah, definitely don't be stacking Berserker as it doesn't increase duration of power.

I find that how much you buff should depend on what you're fighting. In PVP or against something difficult, charging makes sense. Also, charging things that you're reapplying in combat (for me parry, fortify, glancing) I usually don't change as I just end up overwriting them with a single stack shortly thereafter anyway. I don't have a buff deck so all skills are in my normal combat bar so I'm probably an outlier, though.

If you're just fighting liches or something else you're going to destroy and haven't died against in months, save the time and wife frustration and settle for the single stack :D. Even if you kill them 30 seconds slower you're still finishing 30 seconds faster with the time saved on buffing.

    Mine don't take as long.

For harder bosses, the pre-fight buffs are
    1. Elysium Illumination (charged up if fight usually lasts awhile)
    2. Douse (if boss uses fire attack)
    3. Death shield or ice shield depending on boss (charged if fight usually lasts awhile)
Things I cast when zoning in on map and refresh as needed:
    1. Celestial blessing if there's any death magic flying around
    2. Water elemental for healing
Things I cast while running up to the boss (none are charged) and refresh as needed during fight:
    1. Berserk/defensive stance
    2. Parry
    3. Glancing blow
    4. Inner strength
Things I should remember to do but never actually do:
    1. Ignite weapon
    2. Poison weapon

yeesh I forgot about Parry and Soothing Rain too. I never do poison as it makes my ignite weapon go away. I heard they both apply but since I can't 'see' it I don't trust it. :(

    Here's what I use:
    • Water Elemental - I use this when I need extra healing. No charging, lasts indefinitely.
    • Air's Embrace - I always use this one. Charge it up and it lasts more than an hour.
    • Celestial Blessing - I use it when fighting mages, especially undead. No charging, lasts about a half hour.
    • Douse - fighting things that use fire. No charging, lasts over 7 minutes.
    • Purify - when fighting anything that uses death magic. Charge it up, lasts more than 6 minutes.
    • Death Shield - anything that does physical damage, especially archers. Charge it up, lasts more than 6 minutes.
    • Dodge - good against just about every enemy. Charge it up, lasts 3 minutes.
    • Ignite Weapon - useful even with no fire attunement. No charging, lasts nearly 2 minutes.
    • Flurry - probably the best buff. Charge it up, lasts nearly two minutes.
    • Defensive Stance - armor and dodge boost. No charging. Lasts exactly one minute.
I also use a Fleet Flute, potions, water buckets, food and poisons as needed.

    [edit] Oh yeah, also:
    • Blessing of Elusiveness.
    • Blessing of Invigoration.
    • Blessing of Honor.
    • Blessing of Sacrifice.

I also have a routine, and have learned that if you are flagged PVP you should buff BEFORE zoning in - people who might be there won’t wait for you to get ready
    So:
Switch to deck with low fizzle chance
    Food x 2
    Blessings - strength and dex
Potions - wolf speed, might, deftness
Air’s embrace - charge, lasts nearly 2 hours
    Teleport
Shield of Air - charge, lasts 20 mins
Switch to combat deck. Ready in 15 seconds
As required in combat - dodge, evasion, beserk, fortify defence. Short acting, usually no time to stack so spamming.
