I don't get it. The time between spawns for that encounter is like 15 minutes. What are these people getting out of it?

It’s actually 5 minute for a respawn. I sat there and timed it one day. Of note, if you are just wanting to kill Mountain Trolls, you can kill more per 10 minutes in the passes than in that encounter.

They are after the bmc ring.

Is that the only place that you can get the ring? Because it seems to me to be a pretty slow go.

I've gotten a ring from the troll in Vertas Pass but gotten more with the twins.
The spawn is sometimes 5 min between but sometimes I exit an encounter and another troll is waiting for me and I go right back in. This happens multiple times in a row once it starts.

Also, if you are with a partner, they get one troll and you get the other.

Most likely after the BMC ring. But it's also a good training ground for fighting trolls, if you can't handle Ruined Keep yet. (or course, putting a level 1 totem in the troll encounter room is an even better place to practice on easier trolls).

Like lesni said, you can get it from the troll in vertas pass too, I think its a mountain troll thing. As well, what feldon said and there is a chest in the instance at the end of the bridge, its actually not a bad place to grind up some coin.

Most of the people I see camping it are high level.

And the twins are an easy kill too for relatively low level avatars.

They are the same mountain troll that’s found like in the passes. I’ve not noticed any differences between them and ones in the passes.

There’s a much lower level troll in The Epitaph though. That’s a perfect one to practice killing trolls.

Yeah, I can kill that one easily. I have yet to try the ones by the bridge. Are they much harder than the epitaph one?

Nah.... they burn really nicely - if you have decent fire skills.

in short, its teir 10, so if it drops the bmc ring, I cant say Id noticed Ive killed them plenty but never had one, however you do get reasonable loots, and crafting xp..

They're a couple of hip trolls that throw a kick @$$ dance party. One that's standing room only to get in, hence the line. The troll-sized disco balls recently released only upped the dance factor.

If you know HOW to kill trolls, the mountain ones just have a lot more hp. I’m only speaking from a melee perspective (Spear). Again, if you know HOW....

Have no clue how archer or magic users can kill them lol.

Get close enough they don't try to throw rocks at you, don't be right in front of them, and jump when they stomp. Works for epitaph trolls all the way up to Torc. The only thing that makes them really hard at higher levels is their Regen is faster, so if your DPS isn't enough you may not be able to get their health down. And if they do hit you, they might take a pretty significant chunk of your health, so you don't get to make as many mistakes.

If you're talking about the troll encounter, it's not tier 10; it's tier 5+.
