If I get 100 in any glyph is that considered Grand Master?
Is there any advantage to GM'ing a skill, other than 100 is higher than 99?

I have GM'ed 4 weapons, I am now looking at Life. Air or Sun, If I went with Life and got Banish Undead to 100 is that flagged as GM?

    thanks

If someone in your group isn't GM in a skill that you are, they can train that skill at an increased rate. Other than that it's completely cosmetic afaik.

Any skill that is 100 or above is listed as grandmaster in the icon next to your name and gets a little golden triangle on the skill icon.

Personally I switch off learning for each skill once it reaches 100 so it only maintains and doesn't grow.

The GM is really only a bench mark. I trained up my most important skill to 150 and the other ones up to 130. If you don't use a skill, putting XP in it is a waste. You can only have 10 active skills in your bar at a time, so aside from passives or skills you train up to raise your attunement, you might be better off putting those points into your primary skills . just a thought.

You will really notice a difference with GM Mining and GM Forestry when you harvest them.

You have a 1% better chance to mine the highest tier nodes at GM than at 90. So, will he really notice that?

You start getting gems when you do crystal nodes. And you find more wood (from time to time). I sat and observed the difference one day before GM forestry and mining.

You get gems at 90 too. I know because I was there for a very long time.

As others said GM is currently more or less just cosmetic but at least in the beginning there were thoughts about changes on reaching such a skill lvl. E.g. instead of just the name also GM could be added to the crafted item or the skill is getting a small bonus like the double slash is getting the chance to be a triple slash...but I think such changes are either discarded or far below on the to-do list.

And just to mention it as this is the only available and full visible indicator of your preferences this can also be used in RP as reference.
E.g. “I can see through your factitious mask…don’t come closer you slaver of undead souls!” or “Oh you are an animal lover too?”
If that is of any concern to you you should better stop your skills progress at lvl 99. ;)

What four weapons did you GM? If interested in swords then follow @Sara Dreygon model to maximize your damage output. I took many skills to GM to test their efficacy and hardly use them.

Listen to @Fenrus MacRath , good advice to save your xp for the important skills which will help you be more dominant vs mobs. Hit hard, hit fast and hit often
