    #5) Empty PoT: Enclave
    18% CPU, 80% GPU

#6) Empty basement (My City lot in Brittany Estates)
    9.7% CPU, 37% GPU

With #6, I guess then it takes nearly 40% of the GPU just to draw my avatar constantly, even standing still? I removed all of my equipment in case rendering it was part of the issue, no change in CPU or GPU usage. Since the basement is static and has no lights, not clear why it requires close to 40% GPU to do... well, nearly nothing?

disabling shadows (none) and dropping "reflections quality" to low will dramatically reduce resource utilization.

    Hi Mishikal,
Here are my observations on my cpu and gpu load as I ran around Novia, I see you already did an upgrade to your rig. I felt compelled anyway to see how I would fare with my pc.

#1) Standing on the world map where you appear when exiting Upper Tears:
    CPU: 19.0%, GPU 40.9%
#2) In New Britannian Market, in the Oracle building, in front of the Oracle:
    CPU: 18.6%, GPU: 33.9%
#3) Inside Etceter Crag Mine, at its entrance:
    CPU: 21.5%, GPU: 51.7%
#4) In Crag Foothills, having exited Etceter Craig Mine:
    CPU: 19.2%, GPU: 47.5%
    #5) Empty PoT: Enclave
    CPU: 16.1%, GPU: 45.7%
#6) Empty basement (My City lot in Brittany Estates)
    CPU: 11.8%, GPU: 54.4%

    My Specs:
CPU: 1950x Threadripper oc at 4.0ghz (in task manager I set the shroud.exe affinity to use half the threads)
GPU: 2 GTX 1080 Hybrid in sli ( I created a custom profile with nvidia profile inspector to force sli for sota using afr)
    RAM: 64gb gskill trident z rgb @ 3200mhz
    HDD: 1tb Samsung m2 drive
Display: alienware 34" aw3418dw (Shroud does run and look pretty good in ultrawide 3440 x 1440 average fps is anywhere from 30-60 in cities and pots with deco, in basements its usually 70-100.

I am curious though Mishikal. Now that you have a 2080 ti, have your numbers improved. Considering buying the gtx 2080 ti ftw3 ultra hybrid or the KingPin variant.

What resolution is your monitor? For example, I'm at 3840 x 2160 w/ HDR. Also, you'd need to provide your graphics settings, as reflections quality and shadows has a massive impact on perf as well.

My monitor resolution is 3440x1440, it's an ultrawide monitor with a 1900 curve. My graphics settings are all set to max on everything. Changing any of the settings to lower barely makes a difference in fps, except for shadows turning those down only nets a small fps increase and makes the overall experience meh.

The measurements I recreated for you had everything on max if that helps.

I may redo those measurements again eventually with shadows off and no reflections, but atm I am hooked on WoW classic.
But again has your new gpu helped out in any way in your performance?

I'm personally very curious about how you've found game loadtimes (especially that first load-in) with the new setup vs the old.

Still using a setup I got maybe 5 years ago with gtx 970, i7 4790k and 16GB Ram (along with SSD drives). I took a bit of a performance hit when I went to ultrawide and want to upgrade but I hate small upgrades so I've been putting off doing a large one. Maybe when the 2nd one is out of daycare and if we don't have a 3rd :p

But I would appreciate knowing your comparison in regards to SotA.

Perf is definitely much improved with the new CPU & GPU. GPU just still consumes a ton of power.

Load times are significantly improved, probably in part because the game is now on SDD instead of RAID HDD. ;)
