Question Chain Lightning

    For single target, if lightning and chain lightning are at the same lvl (say 120) do they do the same damage?
    I can't test myself, since I have chain lightning at 130.
    Basically I'm wondering if there is any reason to raise lightning to 130 also (other than to gain attunement or save regs).

    Yes, both skills do the same amount of damage, but Lightning costs less in focus as well (another benefit against single targets)

    THere is also a wand that makes your normal lightning hit 2 targets like a mini chain lightning.

    Depends on whether or not you're air spec. Lightning and chain lightning are pretty similar damage vs. single target, but chain lightning gets more dex damage bonus from spec. Lightning also gets -air resist bonus from spec that makes them both do more damage. Even if they were the same, having both gives you more spam damage potential.
