I have a new ssd arriving and I want to do a fresh reinstall of SOTA.

Is there anyway to mitigate the download of sota from scratch with the files I already have on hand in my SOTA folders?

To be honest, I’d recommend you backup your old files, and uninstall and then a full install.

Probably not, unless you recently did a full install. I think it only holds onto the last few patch downloads, which wouldn't have the full game.

At least, when I recently had a low HDD space issue, I noticed only the last few patches in the downloads/patches folder.

I think the only way to avoid a full download of the game is to back up the install folder and replace it after you swap drives. But then, that doesn't get you a fresh install.

Copy the downloads folder from the SotA directory.

I've been putting my games (including SotA) on an external SSD. That way, when I reinstall then I don't have to reinstall these games.

Oh and if you want to take a copy of your settings they're stored at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Portalarium\Shroud of the Avatar] in the windows registry.

Good idea. I got the new ssd. installing on it now.

The old is still intact. I can do that.
