Banned from a town?

A short question:
Exploring the world, I recognized, that I can't enter the town "Astrum" (small isle north of Brittany).

I never was there before.

Is it just me or is the whole town protected from entering?

POT owners can use "Manage Town Access" UI to ban players from the POT.
Some POTs do share the ban list (share it manually by posting on places like discord) for offenses such as:
- Disrupting services in market towns
- Attacking POT owner on a PVP town
- Generally disliked by the guild the POT owner belongs in.

If the POT was recently purchased, it may be inheriting whatever settings that was placed by the previous owner.

Now I'm curious as to why you were banned. I've never heard of this feature before.

The annoying part is that if you try to enter in the city where you are banned you will got stucked on loading screen for 10 min before to come back to novia.

I don't even know who owns the city. Never was inside. First I thought it was a bug ...

 

Could be that Astrum is under renovation or construction so everyone is banned for the meantime. Has anyone actually been able to enter it?

 

you can't ban everyone, i think the field only holds ten names

 

... that hurts, I have to be worse than I thought ...
May be they just don't like Paladins?

 

When towns are transferred the ban list is wiped.

I'd say there is just as much a chance that it is bugged as you having an unseen hater. Anyone else see if they can get in?

Maybe it's a town in reserve to give away to Hercules.

 

I thought Chris mentioned in one of his last streams that there are some POTs that are set to private. Didnt know that was a thing but Chris did mention it.

Astrum is my POT, I had banned 4 people (UT leechers) - for testing purpose only, but you had not been one of them.
I have now removed all from the list - could you please retest?
It had not been my intent to block "real" players - sorry for the inconvenience.
You can also ping me in game in case you still have issues.

Hmmm, that's not good if banning is causing collateral damage.

 

If an alternate character on your account is banned then all the characters on the account are banned. Maybe that was it?

Don't worry i don't care to try, your friends rarely flag and i barely play.

 

yeah, somebody should look into this in case it causes problems for other players & POT owners.

At any rate, i love happy endings - this one got resolved in the nicest way

 

I once banned someone for being a jerk for 7 days. I also have banned people for taking all the loot in the public chests. usually a mail will go out to give them a chance to fix the issue and or explain themselves. We also have stewards that will ban PVPers who are attacking people afk and or crafters. these generally are temporary unless it keeps repeating then it could be a perma.

I think for the most part most town govs are pretty fair on things
