It really doesn't require exposition... the question itself should be sufficient if you think about it.

 

I believe he's alluding to the fact that we've had (FINALLY) some decent Mage food (which we've needed in like FOREVER) given to us in the way of high end fish foods.
Here, let me add a pic of these *new* fish foods, that we've had for - what, a year or more now ?)

Have a look at the pic below and please, please feel free to comment on the attributes of these foods as well as their availability..... And how many of these have you EVER seen on a vendor and at what price ?

I don't really have any problem with these so much as I'll never understand why they're so scared of just putting in an int equivalent to obsidian bear stew/wolf chops. It's not gonna break the world.

 

It legitimately should be this easy and it isn't. Sharks are one of the easiest species to attract and catch. In general, when fishing IRL, the sharks are IN THE WAY eating what's on the end of your line or directly eating your bait. If sharks have overwhelmed your target species IRL, you usually just pick up and move to another spot.

Sharks of a small variety should be very easy to catch in-game and NOT relegated to be caught maybe a dozen, game wide over a month. Large sharks should be tough to catch, but sharks in general shouldn't be so we can actually make some of these food recipes. The other large game species should also be similarly more reliably attracted in-game with a difficult mini-game to actually land the fish with cool animations (fish jumping out of the water, etc).

Professional anglers know how to target these big game species and improve their odds of catching marlin, for instance, but in Novia you are relegated to RNG and impossible odds.

Ah yes, @Duke Gréagóir ... if only fishing in SotA would (even in the smallest of ways) attempt to attain some vague semblance to actual fishing - we'd have a very popular pastime - far beyond the silliness we must currently endure.
