Artifacts that can not be combined, echanted/masterworked or socketed

We may want to start a list of artifacts that need to be updated/balanced. Here is what I have.

Cabalist artifacts: can not be combined
Belt of the Troll Lord: the rare and the legendary versions can not be enchanted (uncommon can)
Gaia' Heart: can not be socketed with gem FIXED *************
Frozen Tear of Titans: can not be socketed with gem FIXED ***********
Xen Penetrator: can not be socketed
Staff of Anarchy: can not be socketed
Staff of Death: can not be socketed
Sheild of Attraction: can not be socketed
Aether orb: can not be enchanted FIXED ***************
Quiver of Jealousy: can not be combined FIXED ***************

I am sure there are a lot more! I will keep adding to the list.

I don't think you're supposed to be able to socket artifacts. (At least, it's news to me if any of them currently can be.)

 

Yes you can, right now most hand held artifacts and jewelry, for example Ankh of Wala, Ankh of sacrifice.

 

Huh. I guess when I tried it, it was one of the ones that couldn't be, and I just assumed that none of them could be.

I still feel that it was a big mistake from the start to allow artifacts to be masterworked/enchanted.

Personally, even if I was a mastersmith and attempted to enhance a thousand year artifact - there should be a chance of it breaking due to the uniqueness of it's construction.

None of us are supposed to be masters of the artifact crafting, any enhancements to something we don't completely understand should be risky.

 

Wand of Static Discharge is useless compared to Thunder Branch. Make Wand of Static Discharge a super stun and dex wand to contrast to the intelligent bonus Thunder Branch.

How so? He is saying that Wand of Static Discharge needs attention, seems pretty much like what the title of the thread is?

As for Tear and Gaia, I would love to see those get a "Arrow spell damage increase" in their respective schools, Ice arrow for tear, Stone Arrow for Gaia, this could bring them on par with the fire/air wands.

Thunder branch is an air wand artifact

 

Most artifact belts (exept Spider Silk belt as far as I know) got a +50 to durability but Sashes did not..I guess they are already at 100.
Artifact necklaces got a +50 to durability but artifact rings did not.

 

Just bumping this @Elgarion in the hopes that other artifacts listed can be socketed in the future. As it stands, it seems that crafted dual wands are still better than, for example, the Staff of Death; whereas crafted dual wands and crafted staffs are now on par with one another (i.e., the crafted staffs can have similar stats as two crafted wands when it didn't before).
