Once again, another missed GM, Viola this time. Please do SOMETHING to celebrate them.

Yeah yeah, some of you don't care, I've heard it before. Some of us like to be notified. It's literally game design 101.

I think the reason there is no celebration nor notification is because it does not matter in game world. GM is no different than 99.9 or 100.1 (unless it has changed).
For example, in UO it had huge difference, it changed drastically how efficient you were with the skill. Here, its just a number.
It's not like there has been much of design anyway, things are just slapped together. However, I feel that 2020 will stitch stuff together better.

What specifically would you suggest when a player reaches GM?

Yeah, GM's do not mean anything. It is just a little brain wash thingy.
    Need to catch em all!

It means you can mentor other people, that is all.

Why not an effect over the player when a skill is GM'd? Might be nice. We can still celebrate the little things.

For a long time I have opened a few yellow supply bundles again.
Suddenly there was a "light" effect, like using a skill.
    And I had an artifact!

I don't think the effect was imagination ;)

Such things would be nice also for level mastering ...
Even if you not have chosen the Auto-Track Skill Advancement in your interface options ...

AND: What MANY have asked @Chris for years, most recently @Fzol: new / renaming of the ("Grandmaster") title(s).
    Something like
    Novice, ... Apprentice, ...
    ... Master (100), ... Grandmaster (120) ...

And maybe a little special effect when reaching such a level.

Back in a telethon, as the question came up to change it, Chris said something like:
"That's the reason, why we let you design the game ..."

Unfortunately, this proposal was not really taken seriously in the past, although it does express the status of the avatar and the goals achieved!

And it is important to have goals achieved in a better way ;)

I agree GMs don't mean as much as they should. Especially since most people are pushing towards 200.

To all those who don't think GM's mean anything, that's a fundamental problem with the game. However, it is the ONLY signpost on the way (another problem), marked by a rock beside the road (third problem.)

Well the rock is the easiest thing to fix.

Sound effect and visual is the way to do it.

Personally getting a GM and an in game achievement would at least be satisfying.
