Thoughts on Raffling off an Episode 2 - POT

    I spent the $500 for an Episode 2 - Overland - POT. I don't play the game anymore. So now I'm going to have a POT and I'm really not going to do anything with it. While I would like to get my money back I also would like to give anyone a chance to own the POT. So I'm thinking of raffling off the POT. I haven't worked the details but it would be something along the lines of $20 worth of COTOs per ticket. 1 ticket per character. 25 tickets minimum, 50 tickets maximum.

    If you end up doing this raffle, please be sure to post it in the most appropriate Marketplace forum or treat it like a player event in the event forums please when you pull it together. Also, please stress in your event posting that this is in no way an RMT transaction to keep the intent very clear (since POT sales typically are, and no RMT sales are allowed on our venues). I can tell you're just putting out feelers to see if an event like this would work, and it appears to be non-RMT. So... just passing through. ;)

    My sense of things as they are is that your $500 holdfast (normally $900) in episode 2 lands is a bargain and will be worth more AFTER the landrush. Just stake your claim or have someone you trust do it then decide how to dispose of it then.

    It's just too soon, doesn't feel like the right time. My two cents.

    For-profit raffles are illegal in the US btw. You might want to donate the proceeds to charity.

    so 25 ticket max by character, (which is 500$ of coto), how many character will participate? Not sure you just want your money back, sound like you want to make alot of profit, why this is allowed since its clearly RMT + Gambling + trying to go around the edge of rules?

    If its not to be discussed then action should be taken. Same for people that still have RMT related post in the marketplace section of the forum. Some people got their thread deleted for absolutly no reason while other still have their post there claiming outloud in BIG CHARACTER what they sell and where to go to trade off. Big visibility for them. Why is that?

    Should be equal for everyone.

    game needs a way for players to sell towns for gold/cotos maybe a vendor to sell a player owned town Claim
    No one going to give them away haha

    Make an easy Way to sell a town in game =)
    Maybe like the deed Raffling like they had but let players do it for towns and take a 20% cut
    or just a vendor to sell the Town claim and also take a 20% cut

    Why would the vendor need to take a 20% cut... especially if it were a commission-free vendor?

    @Elgarion - lock the thread if it make you more comfortable.

    Everyone else - the purpose of this was to see what people thought about a low cost chance to get a PoT and that would be balanced so all players would have an equal chance too. Yes, raffles in the US are illegal. Yes, RMT is illegal on the forums now. If I decide to do this I will find a way to do this in game so it is not a illegal raffle and it's not RMT.
