[Resolved] QA crash to desktop *(unity error) on login attempt

Typed in credentials, and wham
Tried 3 different accounts, some more than oncee.
Can't do usual /bug stuff cause can't even get in.

Tried restarting launcher...still no luck

Crash occurs the moment (the very instant) I press login after typing in credentials, it doesn't even try to think about it, just dies.

Interestingly, if I type nothing at all in the boxes and just click the 'login' button next to those fields, unity error and program shutdown.

Interestingly, I can get onto offline mode on QA client just fine.

Going to blast and completely reinstall, but wanted to report in case others run into similar issue since no idea what caused it, QA worked fine yesterday for me.

 

Obliterated and redownloaded all files, behavior persists.....pres login button = crash

Not sure if you are also using a PC and an Nvida card? Or if it's something else...?

 

Any suggestions or information I can provide to help diagnose?

I was on QA in the previous build, no issues. Nothing's changed on this end other than patching up latest build.
As I said, client crashes on pressing "login" button even if I don't type anything in the boxes, not sure what else I can tell you, its not creating any sort of crash log.
I'll try obliterating the folder and reinstalling since I'm going to sleep now from fresh download, but as I did this once already, not expecting a different result. But who knows!

 

Yeah, Windows 10, Nvidia card...I haven't changed anything or installed anything or done anything since QA worked for me last, other than let it patch.
I've done this dance with SotA before so I'm not going to start fiddling with hardware when I'm 99.9% certain this problem is not on my end lol.
CPU/memory use at normal thresholds, nothing else going on, live server works fine, QA offline works fine, nothing happening in task manager during crash just unity error screen (with shield as above screenshot) and then a few seconds later it just shuts itself down. There's certainly something it doesn't like, but its working for everyone else I've asked so not sure what its gripe is but whatever it is, it liked it well enough on the last build lol.

 

Update!

Obliterated everything (again), redownloaded installer exe (again), reinstalled, repatched etc. etc. and the issue appears to now be resolved. A mystery!

However, I do not trust it, so will be watching it very carefully.

 

I tried logging in and QA would not patch at all hung up and no progress. Deleted and tried to reinstall QA and still stalls out after i hit Play. No progress at all. Been doing QA for 2 years and first time i have ever had an issue with it.
