A year of active playing, not sure I know what "stacking" is.

    I hear stacking mentioned all the time and I am not exactly sure what it means.

    Is it same as charging a skill to it's max before releasing?

    greetings :) they may be referring to damage over time (DoT) effects that can be applied multiple times. for example, the puncture skill for polearm can apply a bleed effect. this effect can be applied up to 3 times from separate skill uses, so if you use the puncture skill 3 separate times you can apply the bleed effect each time. you can hold your mouse over the DoT icon under the target and see how many are applied.

    Wow, I didn't even know there were stats you could see from those icons under your target. I just thought they showed the effect.

    I should ask questions more often.

    There are multiple interpretations of stacking: combining glyphs, adding DoTs, placing chairs on top of each other... madness!
