What means "block a user"?

Hi there!
I have some questions about blocking another user:
Sees the blocked user that i´ve blocked him?
Sees the blocked user if i´ve been online or is my character for this user offline?
Can the blocked user contact me?

They will not be able to contact you.
They will only know you blocked them if they try to message you. Then they will get a message they they have been blocked.
They will still see any thing you type in chat, but you will not see what they type.
They will not be able to see if you are online unless they see you in a zone, or see you type something in chat.

Is there a mute mode, so muted users see me as offline and don´t see anything i´m posting?
A bit like "mute" in Twitter ...

I´m offline for other players, even friends & guildcompanions?

 

Yes, private mode is when you want to enter an instance just with yourself and no one else. No one can enter the instance you are in.

Party mode is also similar. In Party mode, if you are not in a party, you will still enter a single instance. But you can then create a party and then invite people to a party to join you in the instance you are in.

I usually run around in Party mode, just incase I want to invite some people to a party.

 

You're still online in private mode. And, no, as Anpu says above, even friends and guild companions will not see you when you're in most adventuring scenes in private mode. However, this applies ONLY to most adventuring scenes. You'll still be visible to everyone while you're in town, on the overworld, and in certain special scenes like the outskirts and PVP areas.

The only way to play completely privately is via the "Play Offline" option.

 

I wish we had a function to block a person for a specified time period.

Maybe I should suggest it.

The moderators should also have a function to force this on between two people.
