Purifiers as conversationalists

While they DO fit in the current lore (they hate outlanders), someone could probably not use it in a lore friendly way.....

That said, for the most part, the community as a whole I would not expect to see that happen.

Yeah, it's all problematic. The narrative contribution as anti-Outlanders can still be achieved without the blatant racist symbolism of their outfits. There isn't any need to have that kind of symbolism in our game as it only serves to incite unneeded controversy. The situation becomes increasing problematic when players are allowed to populate the world with these extremists (hat or no hat) and define their speech--it gives the impression of tacit approval of that viewpoint.

My vote is for a complete rebranding of the purifiers.

 

Maybe instead of one point, their hoods could have multiple points similar to a jester hat, which would be a bit ironic.

 

OTOH, that's one step closer to evil clown mobs...

 

(Though, it might be kinda funny if some had the current pointy triangle hats, some had cube hats, and some had sphere hats...)

 

Evil clown mobs would be awesome!

 

Because if there's anything Shroud needs, it's more garish out-of-place nonsense...
