Kidding aside, this is awesome. It'd be a cool addition to have other boss portraits to find.

Might want to tune the drop rate a bit, though. I'm getting one about every three kills. And seeing how many times you have to kill her on average to get a bow or quiver... I'ma have a lot of these by then.

 

You could just start selling them! Considering she is a seasonal boss, it makes sense she has a unique but common drop.

 

I set it at 15% hoping not to make it too common, but common enough to easily get during her visit this year. I just raised the quiver by double, and the Envy bow by a tad more than double. Those last 2 will need to patch in, painting is unchanged.

I'll see if Sannio wants to make a turn-in quest for excess paintings. Might be a good alternative use for overstock

 

Any hope those will patch in before next release when she disappears? (Or, does Envy Angel stay through the end of March? )

Funny story: The image I posted was from inside the Envy Angel's house. I'd already spent about 20 hours in there over the previous few days, and had killed her four or five times in my current session. I saw the painting, and thought, "huh, how did I never notice that before?" Then I took my selfie and posted it to Discord. After which I mentioned that I wished the painting was a drop. Then I half recalled seeing something about a portrait drop from Envy in the patch notes. Posted my speculation in Discord, and then got the drop on the next kill. (Presumably, I didn't notice it because it had just patched in that day.)

So of course, I immediately wished for an Envy Quiver... (And now that Elgarion has turned up the drop rate a bit, maybe that actually worked too!)

It likely won't take long.


It'd be super cool to get things like this for all the bosses. Or at least, the seasonal ones.

 

Or, even better, a new relatively common drop (painting, or some other easily created deco/non-artifact asset) every season. Something to give a reason to seek them out each year, instead of just doing it once then never bothering again. @Elgarion

I imagine aether would be easy, just apply the texture to something that exists. Others might be trickier. But it wouldn't have to be anything super elaborate.

 

Quivers, bows, and someone's fancy doublet leggings. No painting yet though.

 

I got nothing for killing the Envy Angel some 20 times already.
