I've been to a couple control points recently and I keep getting hit with an unbreakable stun. Where does this come from?

Hi Barugon. I would check the log file looking for "stun" and see what is in there. May lead to more targeted questions. You can also try uploading the log file to my combat analyzer and review the information on the enemies and what attacks they are using to see if anything stands out.

Not sure which control point u were in. I remember high level elf mage cast some single long mesmerize effect. And kobold mage know some lightning spell which may also stun

Probably the ridiculous elf mage mez. It happens in Lost Vale a lot, too. Because we needed another no-counter unavoidable cc mechanic, I guess.

Knights Grace isn’t removing that stun? Smelling Salt states that it removes mesmerize effects.

Then there’s always the totally and completely vague purity spell..... That should specifically state exactly what it is supposed to be doing.....

    It's not a stun, so I think knight's grace won't work.

Next time I go to lost vale, I'll have to put salts on my bar. From what I recall, your combat/utility bars freeze during the mez. Maybe salts will still be available. Though, they can mez you over and over, while salts have like a 30 second cooldown, which is stupid.

I was in Vertas Pass last night, so probably the elf mages mesmerizing me. I don't use heavy armor, so Knight's Grace is not available to me. However, smelling salts works.

If it's a mez shouldn't it break as soon as you take damage? I'd imagine that would happen almost immediately at a control point.

Smelting salts remove mesmer, you can use It in The peace deck (utility) in combat mode

Only the first one. If there's a second, you're waiting for the 30 second salts cooldown to expire.

I believe this is the Confusion/Dazzling Rays spell, or a variation of them, being used by mages in control points.

It is also very possible that the various melee enemies in control points with shields can use shield bash and/or charge or some variation of them.

Very possibly both from both sources.

Due to lag that happens in control points, it can be very hard to discern the source of damage/effect you have taken at times.
