    Title: Network and loading weirdness
    Reproduction Rate: Usually
    Blocker? Yes
Details: I'm seeing extreme network and loading weirdness. I cannot log in to SOTA; it is frozen at the "loading" pop-up after signing in. I previously logged in and noticed some areas, especially Outlander Welcome Center, generate network disconnections. These disconnects all occur on the "Coordinating Data" part of screen load.
Steps to Reproduce: I have no idea.
    User Specs:
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4) System RAM: 16336
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 GPU RAM: 4053
    SotA.Win.64.????.Date.04.10.21
Area: Outlander Welcome Center. Appears to be related to the number of other avatars in the area but I can't really tell. Superstition Canyon CP could be annoyingly brutal to load or could be half decent.

    Note: Okay, finally logged in.
Apparently there's something going on in the US again?

Okay, finally managed to get in to Outlander Welcome Center. I think I'm the only one here now.
Another symptom: "The network connection to a required network service is unavailable".

I've been having this issue all week but this weekend the game has been virtually unplayable.
The issues happen when loading into any instance such as NPC Towns, PoTs, dungeons, and basements.
The scene will load to 50% and stop at "Coordinating Data".
After a couple minutes it will give me a "ERROR: The network connection to a required network service (scene) is unavailable" .

If it doesn't boot me to the main map i'll get the following errors:
ERROR: The network connection to the game service was lost.
[PELICAN] Network congestion caused a disconnection from the game service.

I've reinstalled the game client, updated device drivers, power cycled my ISP equipment but no joy.
I'm not experiencing issues with any other network games or services.

A couple of times my toon (Wafflestomp adv lvl 101) has loaded with no stats, no equipment, blank social list, no xp pool, no skills, and apparently a gender change.

I've been looking into this error but it seem super rare and so far the only 1 or 2 case i had similar was caused by a recent windows update. Eventually a new windows update kick in and seem to fix it all.
I can suggest to try checking if you recently got a windows update, if it seem to match the time you started having problem try to undo that update.
Please tell me if it does anything or thats not related at all. Ty!

I haven’t been having such issues with my windows computer (windows 10), but I just now noticed there is a Feature Update to Windows 10, version 20H2 in the Windows Update page. I haven’t downloaded that yet. I wonder if that might be the problem?

It doesnt affect everyone the same way, i think if you are running the game at same time as the update is installing it can get blocked for some reason.

I'm using the standalone version of SOTA if that makes a difference. I do notice that when the problem occurs:
    1. If it occurs when I'm trying to log in, Unity Crash Handler will appear in Task Manager. SOTA will be unplayable (hang after password nicely playing music forever and using up 1 core doing it) until I reboot or reset my network adapter.
    2. If it occurs when I'm playing, SOTA network usage drops to slightly over 600Bps. I believe Unity Crash Handler also comes on but I could be wrong.
    3. It seems to have nothing to do with network issues on our side: I have loaded various things into Chrome while SOTA was choked.
Maybe Windows did something weird with its network buffers and/or SOTA excacerbates this?

    My network card:
Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller, driver version 10.46.1231.2020
    - Client for Microsoft Networks
    - File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
    - QoS Packet Scheduler
    - IPv4
    - Microsoft LLDP Protocol Driver
    - IPv6
    - LLTD Responder
    - LLTD Mapper I/O driver

@Chris is doing some down time tomorrow morning to hopefully resolve some network problems.

    Shroud of the Avatar@catnipgames
Going to do a brief server down time Tuesday morning at 7AM. Should only last a few minutes.

Forgot to say that the downtime in the morning is going to hopefully be to reduce the disconnects.

Still occurring, but with a new one:
"Connection time limit has expired connecting to the server".
Still uses 2 cores to 100% when timing out. Why does waiting on the network take so much cpu?
Also getting "Waiting for your character to leave the previous scene" hangs. Why can't I just "go to previous scene"?

I had the same problem few minutes ago - stuck at loading screen and Unity Crash Handler. I've seen this a few times lately. I'm in Oregon and connect via ExpressVPN. I changed my location from Seattle to San Francisco and the problem went away and the program loaded normally.

On start, if I find that if SOTA spawns a Unity Crash Handler, I can log in and play if I kill the Unity Crash Handler before SOTA reaches the initial screen.
Is it possible something weird is going on like Unity Crash Handler using up ports that SOTA core needs or blocking the execution of the SOTA core?
@Mugly Wumple , @dogfacedmenace , Are you guys using standalone SOTA or Steam SOTA? I'm using Standalone and I'm wondering if it makes a difference.

Just to let you know I'm still having the same "ERROR: The network connection to a required network service (scene) is unavailable" issue.
I also got a new "[WHEAT] The connection to the game service was lost. Diagnostic="None"" logging off my toon.
Happened a couple times during the live stream.
    Wafflestomp/Denny Crane in game.

@dogfacedmenace Yeah, I got that too.
The problem has actually gotten worse now - it occurs nearly 90% of the time now (before it was intermittent and easily cleared by resetting my network adapter). A few times now my character has appeared in ghost form with >0 hp and no way to unghost.
