There are so many food recipes and so many different effects. It would be awesome if the recipe book would show the effects the food has; it would make it so much easier to choose which food to cook. At the moment, I have to use the wiki/forum posts/other player resources to find the food I'm looking to make.

Another option is to craft all the food and place it in a trunk and view them there. That’s what I’m using currently, because that’s always accurate and what is current in game.

I would extend the request to all items that produce some effect, such as potions or gems.
The option Anpu said is relatively valid, because not all players have access to all cooking ingredients (or alchemy, in the case of potions).
I exposed something similar in another thread.
For example, a potion requires an eyelash from a huge bear that lives in a cave surrounded by spiders. For me it is a great challenge to get that eyelash, but the name of the potion seems interesting so I venture to get it. And then it turns out that the potion's effects are not suitable for my character.
It would be great to know the effects of the items before making them, I give a lot of likes to Ysold's request.

That’s a really good and valid point.

I would go on and say every consumable or component in the game should have its effects clearly stated in the recipe book.
Like, what's the effect of a yard of supple leather or a bronze enforced bone plate.
