DO the type of gems used change the area of use ? or are all gemed lures only used in Lava ?

Would be pretty spiffy if using certain gems upped the chances of different fish. But that's likely a lot of work.

when using regular gemmed lures, you have the chance at catching sulfurous ash. when using heavy gemmed lures, you will no longer catch ash. other than that...no difference in %, afaik. so technically, its better to use heavy, since it removes 1 possible item from the "catch table". if that makes any sense.

Is it correct to assume that it is not impossible to catch everything on worms no matter where or when? Maybe not a great chance, but a chance nonetheless.

As I understand it yes you can catch any type of non-lava fish with a worm, other baits just give you a slightly better chance. Lava fish require lures.
