Quartz

Where's a good place to get quartz? I only know of a couple nodes and junk items are pretty rare now.

 

Do you do the daily troll toenail quest?

 

Of course. Every couple of days or so. Is there some quartz involved there somehow?

 

When you return to hand in the toenail, perhaps have a look around…

 

I thought items you grab from the world (not loot) provide almost nothing when you salvage them? Anyway, thanks @Anpu.

 

Oh but they do provide a decent amount of quartz from the glass items now. That was adjusted recently.

 

No xp for salvage, but same drop rate as looted glassware. I usually steal from Pendro in Yew, because you can stand on the table and reach everything as it respawns. Though, I do wipe out Tarian when I'm there.

Zinc is the bigger pain, since they nerfed in in the monkey room.

 

With 1 zinc per 4 flasks I've been getting more out of random crate busting than I've spent. Just kicking apart 1-3 per hour of adventuring keeps me topped up for personal use.

 

After some looking around, I found Tartarus is a good spot to loot salvageables for quartz.

I normally get my Zinc from supply bundles and kill Kobolds if required.

I really wish the quartz nodes in Sequanna Colossus gave more per gathering. I wish there was occasional quartz nodes scattered throughout mines as well.

 

Quartz nodes will be rare by design as a little fun bonus item you see once in a while. Sannio added some to The Outlaws Run I believe as part of this concept, but the primary source for quartz will remain salvage of mundane items to help to prove some importance to them in the world.

 

and look around at more than just the toenail quest home. there are other houses in the zone worth a look too...

 

all things glass... jars, vials, testubes etc... loot every shelf you see on adventure and you can salvage for a lot of quarts
