Weapon skill damage

I untrained Piercing Shot because I don't use it and noted that the damage for all my ranged skills went down. So, how does this work? Is damage based on the average of all the skills? Just the active skills? What?

Ranged Combat is not magic and does not have attunement.

 

Your description sounded so like attunement that's where my brain went, of course you're right.

 

How did you determine that all ranged dmgs went down, @Barugon ?

I'm curious of by what margin did the skills go down.

 

Did you run some tests and everything went down?

 

Skill descriptions. Aimed Shot went down by 5 points at the high end and 3 points at the low end. All the other skills went down as well.

Well, after that, I had to spend the next hour re-training Piercing Shot... and I wasted an Obsidian Scroll of Unlearning.

 

I would email them and ask that it be replaced ( the Unlearning ), at least............

 

Did you take screenshots of your damage and skill trees in each state, as well as your equipment?

I just tried on QA and did not have the same issue. I think what happened is that I might have untrained it right at sunset, when Sun Worship wore off and I lost 10 strength. Possibly an unlucky coincidence.

 

That's why I was wondering the numbers. As the margin is skim, there's probably another explanation other than "combat attunement".

 

After some observation yesterday, I'm certain that the culprit was Sun Worship. I'm really not a fan of skills that change your stats based on the time of day.

 

If it actually showed an icon on the buff bar when they are currently active would probably make things less confusing….
