I recently got a VPN. It works great, except I cannot get on to SOTA with it. The installer will not load. Does anyone else have this problem or solution? I play SOTA in stand alone mode, not on Steam.

Why are you playing over VPN?

Just tested with my VPN and it works just fine. I use Steam, but I don't know how much it makes a difference. Some VPN's just suck.

LoL, I'm not. Have to turn it off to play. Just wondering what the problem is playing with it on.

You might find it's the VPN not liking the torrent-style distribution of the client - if you can, try go on the internet without the VPN and get any patches for the client, then close the launcher, start the VPN and launch the game directly from the executable file (Shroud of the Avatar.exe).

Your VPN probably isn't allowing Torrent type traffic or is throttling it (with a PacketShaper or similar type of device). Use the Steam version.
