Details: I went AFK for awhile in my basement, and when I came back, I started whispering to another player, which didn't clear the AFK flag. I moved around my basement, and the flag still wouldn't go away. I exited my basement to the house above, an the flag cleared.
Steps to Reproduce: Go AFK in a basement your character owns for 45 minutes-1 hour. Come back, whisper someone, observe flag still present.. walk around, observe flag still present.. use stairs to exit basement, notice flag is gone.

I am seeing this as well. I was in my dungeon then did a bunch of housework, returned and I was AFK. Nothing I did (typing, moving) cleared the AFK tag. Leaving my basement did clear the AFK tag.

Thanks Anpu - maybe it's basements & dungeons that's the secret sauce? Tomorrow I'm going to login my roomie's character and go AFK in a POT somewhere and see what happens.

 

In my POT, if I’m sitting, standing up clears the afk title. But typing doesn’t remove it.

 

Ok, so I tested in Owl's Head and went AFK for about 3 hours -- when I came back, I had the "AFK" flag next to my name. I replied to a player who sent me a whisper (they were offline) the AFK flag next to my name didn't go away. I also typed in Universal chat, and the AFK flag next to my name did not go away. However, other players in Universal chat did not see the flag, which seems to be this bug that's been submitted.

Details: I my avatar standing around in my town until he went AFK and then the [AFK] tag was stuck to his name (see screenshot below) when I returned and started moving around again. Changing scenes cleared the AFK tag.
Steps to Reproduce: Wait untile avatar goes AFK the start moving.

Interacting with an NPC or casting something will also clear the [AFK] tag. This is only visible to you. Other players do not see [AFK] on your name. Tested that last part using my wife's acct to go afk and had her send me a message.
