Where Is Chris?

As a humble player following, and well invested into, the game I wonder: Where is Chris?

Why have we had such a major roll-back of the game this past week with no post from its leader?

I saw developer posts recognizing a problem with Release 106, that fixes were being tested on the QA server, that there would be a role back to Release 105, but then a developer (Allium's) announcement that 'Release 106 is NOW open' dated 7 October:

But there are fair questions about that within the community. Given that other developers reported a roll back, has the new Release 106 indeed been issued? Or, as many players are saying, are we now playing Release 105 again? Or even 104 again? Are we prone to another reset to get back to 106 causing us to lose experience again if we log in and play now? What is the real status? Are we supposed to follow QA server details to understand this? Or should we expect communication posted / stickied in this General forum from company leadership to communicate the status of roll back decisions? All we see now in General is a company post on Release 100, which is confusing. Shouldn't we see something more about Release 106's roll back and its resolution? There is community discussion about various rewards for players experiencing the problem stating that we are playing Release 105 or Relase 104 even. Has that been communicated officially somewhere beyond discussions about the QA server testing?

I see the kind posts from others thanking the developers for their overtime work to resolve the R106 roll back. I appreciate that as well. I'm just asking the obvious question - how do we go from this being an all-hands-on-deck roll-back issue to suddenly 'R106 is NOW open' without any communication on the resolution and status otherwise? Is Chris no longer available?

and guys, I think most of you know I've been helping out a different project for the past few months. Very close to wrapping that up and moving back to Shroud 100%.

 

Very Valid questions. Thanks for asking them. Many of us were affected many ways by the roll back. Sure this is the first time ever since release that anything like this has happened. We've had very little down time but this was a big one. For myself I will recover from all my recent renovations disappearing from the game but for now I don't have the heart or fortitude to dig back in to start them again. Slowly I may. Yeah my timing for a new project was definitely not aligned with the stars lol or something.

Some lost more than that from buying items on vendors that may or may not appear again to who knows what all. My lossees were not xp related mostly lots of time and researching new songs and making many copies of sheet musics for my new Solo Music store and the School of Rocks group songs vendor area.

Anyway now we go forward hoping all preventative measures have been put in place and that this was at least a learning lessons. *cheers* to the Devs and to all the players who hung in there with this situation. Now here's a song for you that always makes me smile and feel better.

I don't know who Chris is. I assume he is some sort of executive. If this is correct, then I agree with you 100%. The lack of communication from senior leadership is beyond disappointing. I am not upset the game broke, I am upset they are not transparent about what (if anything will happen next), many people spend a lot of money on this game, that means real world implications beyond just loss of time. Takes only but a moment to post something on the forums.

Eh? He's no longer working on another game? This is new. To me at least.

 

It aint news to you. We've discussed NFT based games in our guild meetings and I think even you expressed your thoughts in our member texts.
IE... We were right from the start. But let's not gloat about it.

 

k. And yes. While I thought it was a mistake. I was under the impression they were moving forward with it anyway.

 

Let's just say that it's a hard prediction to make in such a volatile environment.
We'll deep dive the subject when we have our next guild meeting.
