In Aerie, Brittany Alleys, Blood Bay, Graff Island, and the city of Mud, are Jack of Diamonds Bouncers. These NPC's have the same script that can be randomly selected, where the bouncer will look for any near by Player, then start pathing towards them, and then salute them.

This is something I have always felt is not accurately representing what exactly is going on here. As an Avatar with all 3 principles at high levels, this bouncer does not like me at all. He also will not even let me onto the Jack of Diamonds. Yet he walks up and salutes me?

I would really like to see this script altered to accurately represent what is going on here. Just something along like this: After the NPC locates a near by avatar, it then starts pathing towards them. It then checks the players principle that's relevant to the guard. If the player has high virtue, it could do something like the Taunt emote or something similar, indicating they do not like you. Else it then would do the ComeHere emote.

This I feel would more accurately represent what is going on here. I don't know much about your scripting language and or if you even have such scripting functions to check a players virtue or not. Just something I wanted to throw out there as a suggestion. Very low priority, but would certainly be more descriptive with these specific bouncers.

How did you get into the Jack of Diamonds with high virtue? The scene was probably not designed for this situation?

You possibly misread what I said above? With a certain high virtue they will not let you on the Jack of Diamonds.

Sorry i misread - you’re mentioning the behavior of the NPC who admits you to the airship. This seems like something for @Sannio for feedback

I always travel solo so not sure how NPCs behave with multiple avatars around - could this cause confusion if a high virtue and low virtue player are standing close together? It sounds like you're talking about the NPC's behaviour while it is not interacting with a specific avatar.

Looking for a player and walking towards them is part of our universal NPC behavior. That part is pretty much locked in forever.

The fact that one of these bouncers saluted you is extra weird. It's not behavior specifically added to these bouncers. Maybe it's a mandatory addition to being the "Friendly to All" faction which means he's a noncombatant, and the "friendly" element was taken too literally? If this is the case, I wonder if we have another noncombatant faction I could use that won't do the salute. I'll have to experiment.

Having the bouncers give different "hello" responses based on your virtue is something I can do, and I'm surprised I didn't already. Most of the other responses for the bouncers already have this quality. I'll add this ASAP.

Sorry, just to save you some time (I was only looking at these animations, not actual dialogue). You actually DO already have responses based on virtue. Here is the response if you have High Truth:

    [2:00 PM] Anpu: airship
[2:00 PM] Jack of Diamonds Bouncer: I guard an airship named the Jack of Diamonds. No one's allowed on board unless they have a certain reputation. Including you.

It's just them walking up and saluting me, comes across as very odd (for these NPC's). Hopefully that is something you could alter, but you might not be able too.

I don´t mind that NPC´s look out for players and walk up to them - however when I am already in a conversation with another NPC that then a different NPC walks up to me so close that even in the enlarged view of my talk with NPC 1 I can see NPC2 bursting from behind into my personal space, that is creepy.

That’s an entirely different NPC script/behavior. For what ever reason (?) after you talk to an npc, they will usually suddenly walk up to you.

That npc behavior I just don’t get. It’s basically rather annoying and creepy….
