Repair?

My 3 repair skills (blacksmithing, carpentring and tailoring) are all still at skill level 1.

That despite having used the repair skill dozens of times and usually the first skill gains skip several levels in other skills.

I used repair always at a workbench, rightclicking the item and chosing repair, using a repair-set each time.

Or is the repair skill something different?

When you're at the workbench, do you hit repair button in the crafting window?

 

To raise the repair skills you need to place a worn item and a repair kit on the crafting station to use the repair item recipe.

 

So I did essentially the same at the right place - but in the wrong way and therefore my skill did not rise?

And when I´m at the crafting station and rightclick an item and chose repair - that counts as if I did it anywhere from inventory as if I´m NOT at the crafting station?

 

Yes, you were at the crafting station but didn't use the crafting station.

Yes, that method of repair has no effect on or benefits from the repair skills.
