A Royal Reflection of R3

R3 was a resounding success, again mostly thanks to YOU! While we did uncover a number of good issues to wrestle with, overall, I could not have been more pleased. Having our Dev+ players test the release early helped a lot this time, as we found a critical flaw in our player to map fill process, and got it fixed before the main release. I really loved hanging out in the pubs of Owlshead and Braemar with all of you! But my favorite happening, happened without me. I loved the search for the Wisps in the forest graveyard of Braemar, and the freshly composed music for it presented by Holt and Ember!

Having community contributions already showing up in the game demonstrate that SotA can be something really special.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that the early testing and interacting with the devs and community has been some of the best gaming experiences of my life. I believe that the way this game is being made won't just be successful and groundbreaking...but will be studied and copied for many years to come.

It was great seeing you in Owl's Head my liege! But your safety and security is of utmost concern, for someone tried to stab you! How dare they attempt such a thing! We must find this evil doer and teach him again the good virtues!

 

It was a true honor to be involved with the R3 testing. With the multi-player feature unlocked it was a whole new experience for me. My play sessions were much longer and than in R2 and I forged new epic friendships that I hope will last for years to come.

 

There must be Wisps in Shroud of the Avatar!

 

The parkour deserves an honorable mention. Also, TTPvP: 56min.

Hear, hear, Mordecai! The parkour was a surprisingly fun way to bond with fellow avatars since features are still so limited at this stage in the pre-alpha!

I can't wait for R4!!!

Even I have to admit that the music coming in from the crowd is sounding quite well, and well inside the actual game not just standing up by itself. So, well done there guys.

 

Speaking of evildoers, I'm surprised that Lord British didn't receive an invitation to a "special event" in the Owlshead courtyard, near the fountain.
