I get a really big Ultima vibe from it, I've been wishing this was the art direction shroud of the avatar would be going but it's whatever now, I still enjoy what has been worked on.

    check it out

I like! Very cool for Alpha
The look of the water is very impressive and the rag-doll physics when NPCs die look excellent.

The combat reminds me of Dark Souls somewhat where blocking/parry are important.

It's very pretty, but what I like about it and wish was the default for shroud, is the perspective. I love the 3D pseudo-isometric view. LOVE it.

It looks like it will be a good game. I agree on the perspective, but I am not sure I would have wanted SOTA to be like this. It could just be because I have already been through the Alphas and all the excitement of the project so far. However, I would like to have a default perspective like Sui has.

Yeah, I actually tweeted Richard about it awhile ago and he said he really liked it to but they are to far along in development to do anything about it D-: ah, well tis a beautiful looking game and has a refreshing combat/magic mechanics the surprising this is the kickstarter didn't even touch the amount of Shroud of avatar and they've been able to do that much with it, lol.

I'm not sure I would have wanted a isometric or topdown view of SotA. I am looking forward to Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity and Torment with their isometric views but I still want my first person view for SotA. Although I can see how an isometric view works better with a dual scale map design as there really isn't any shift in perspective unlike what we'd have now, which can be jarring. Well, it depends on how well they implement the overhead map view and in what style too.
