And here's where we see how many very different playstyles are flocking to SoTA, because, with the exception of some of the combat suff, that trailer did nothing for me.

I like cool stories and immersive settings. Minecraft + Sims + Warcraft (the original)... not so much.

Oh look... Open PvP and Full Loot.

Just what a lot of people here have been asking for.
Perhaps this will be just the thing for them.

If people thought like that and never took a leap of faith, the world would be a very dark place.

Just because a person has done something, does not automatically make the next thing they do awesome.

Just because a person has done nothing, does not automatically make the first thing they do crap.

It looks pretty interesting for its genre. I personally prefer something with more storyline and such. I much prefer what SOTA is shaping up to be. But how could you go wrong with RG having creative control.

If you guys look at the team page of Life is Feudal, you will see that they actually are real professionals, and some of them actually worked on UO, Diablo and many other AAA titles.
And then also look at how long this game is already in the making (since 2010) so that much about the "clone" lol

Might be a good idea to read first before you speak ;)

What mechanics specifically would you like to see them incorporate?

Edit: I'm a little curious about crafting mini-games. It would reduce people who macro crafting while offline and might make crafting fun.

I'm cautious about crafting mini-games. I don't want crafting or gathering to be too twitchy and if there are mini-games I want them to somehow emulate (to some degree) the action we're performing. I don't want a huge disconnect between the process and the action, just because it seems fun.

So, Fallout 3 style lockpicking... OK. Button-mashing, twitchy stuff... Please no.

According to their website, it is "more hardcore than typical theme park MMORPG".
I'm glad they can so eloquently relate to us their vision!

If you watch the video it is more like moving a saw back and forth to cut down a tree and such. So a bit like Fallout lockpicking.

The mining reminded me of Dungeon Keeper. :) I like the formation idea seems simple yet very intuitive.

    @crachazz

http://wurmonline.com/ DO you see the similarities between this and Life is feudal, would pretty much say that they cloned a lot of ideas from Wurm lol, not that many people play Wurm and I know because I have played it just to see what it was like, so I don't see how they can think that their game will pull in more players. I agree with Miganarchine on this one and I too will stay with RG and Sota, and before you tell other people to read before you speak first, take your own advice. Answer me this too, when RG created the Ultima series culminating in UO, how, when he has stated that Sota is the spiritual successor to UO can you say that he is cloning his own idea? and who cares if its been in the making since 2010, good work cannot be rushed.

What are you even talking about? They say themselves it is a niche game, so it won't attract a lot of players nor be the new WOW. And yeah someone said that this game is shitty and said "what good games did they ever release", here in this thread, where I then said this person should better read ... So again, what are you even talking about.

Yeah I went a little overboard on my post, i should have taken said advice about reading first, but you did lol at the idea life is feudal was a clone, i was correct in pointing out Wrum online as being where some of the ideas might have come from as that first appeared around 2003.

For the record I am backing SOTA. Just want to be sure they take into account creative aspects of other marketable games.

There are some good ideas in that game, but when the game is taken as a whole there doesn't seem to be much interest. Their Indiegogo campaign was prematurely closed because the devs figured their goal of €200K would be impossible to reach, for example.
