Technically it was yesterday, but better a day late than a dollar short.

 

First day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere is March 20th (though strictly speaking, it varies between the 19th to 21th).

Where are you located ?

 

I'm in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a fantastic city in many ways, weather not being one of them. We had snow and slush yesterday for the first day of Spring.

It isn't unusual here for it to keep snowing into April, with May bring 95 degree weather with 95% humidity.

And if we're on the topic of marking specific days on the calendar, I do hope New Britannia has holidays.

I am in the North Hemisphere. You are correct about it varying. Last time it was on March 21 was in 2007. That is why I stated - better a day late in wishing everyone a happy spring.

I was born March 20th, so I tend to know when it occurs.

Ah, yes, spring in Phoenix, when the blossoming trees bloom, the sun shines bright in sky, and the pitter patter of the spiders, scorpions, tarantulas, and reptiles all waking up to play.

 

Will probably be 2 months or so before spring comes here.

To be fair the Weather my way (South Wales) has been pretty decent for a number of weeks now, following an incredibly wet but mild winter. Your deceleration of Spring last month wasn't far off the reality

 

While in the southern hemisphere we drift imperceptibly into autumn...

Sounds much better than last year. When I visited Ireland and Scotland last year in May I was told by the locals that the weather was 2 months behind and what I was seeing in May was what it is in February normally.

We can't see the sky here right now because of all the farmer's fields burning and there were 3 grenade attacks here in Chiang Mai this week, but other than not being able to breath the air

The waves of time distortion have extended beyond this thread to my backyard. Temps soaring to the 80's today, obviously late fall conditions. Figured this would be the proper thread to congratulate the SOTA team on the fantastically successful roll out of SOA last week, with over $15 million in contributions to date.....
