To be consistent with the new Castle lots , I think the lot size of a Duck lot should be increased to the size of two City lots.

I am staring to like the idea that the Dukes to get a larger lot now. It makes since that lotm gets castle, duke gets ????, baron gets city, lords get town, and knights and under get village. Of course you can upgrade your village or town lots all the way to city in game.

$5k is a lot of money to get a city lot.

They can't keep changing lot sizes, the sizes where in place a long time ago. People are complaining about knight being too small as well, to which I say hogwash. If you want a larger lot, then build a smaller house, you CAN put up a village Citizen house on the city plot & have all 5 basement levels to decorate which should take a few episodes, by then they may well have open house placement in certain hexes who knows. For now it's good what they've decided.

Quite true, you could put one of your smaller houses on your lot (and thus free up more land for farming, gardening, etc.. ) The problem is that most backers would prefer to put their best looking (and presumably largest) house on their lot...I do agree with you that what they've come up with so far seems fine. Adding more types of lots (beyond the new Castle lot) would only complicate things...

The new Castle lot is the size of 4-city lots. Increasing the size of the Duke lot to 2-city lots fill in the gap and makes things more consistent.

    But they are doing that...

I think the Dukes should get some thing larger. 5k is a lot and don't get much more then the barons that spent 3k. Should give this group of people a bit more.

The problem with it that I see is, the Lots you speak of are in the center area of town, so they would have to decrease the city lots by 1/2 or have to make the city center bigger, forcing a complete restructuring of the towns since they may already be being built. Now if they added the plots to the outside of the city limits that would make it easier but not sure if that would be good or bad for the Dukes. There is loads of room in the Hexes we've seen so it should be possible to make some available just be lots of work moving all the other lots around.
I wonder how far along they are at building the different towns anyway.....
I don't care if the dukes get bigger land, I just don't want the Devs to get side tracked from making the game complete in 7 months!

To answer my own question: YES! There's a ladder there.

I think the ladder was added in R4. It wasn't there in Mad Hermit's walkthrough video.

Is there going to be a land version of the Duke Castle?

I agree. The Duke level lot should be increased, were talking 5k here. They seem to be considering any fair and reasonable requests. ANY level should be able to place the largest house available to them and have some room for left for a garden or decorative features, etc.

Absolutely, spending $5k is a lot of money. If LOTM gets 4x City then the Duke should get a 2x city.

I agree. Not only double-sized lots, but I think the Duke lots should be placed on the hills overlooking the city. Not only will this be a great location for them with an awesome view, but it will make the existing city lots more available.

That's the one thing that I'm not so keen on. I think the concept of the LOTM having a huge castle outside/ near the city is cool but I'm scratching my head about whether I'd want that too. I think I'd rather be closer to the action.

I guess it's a tradeoff. But if you play your cards right, your land lot can be where all the action is.

Perhaps one's lot will be the *reason* for the action to begin with.

"Come see the fabulous flying monkey display at the Jatvardur Castle! And while there stop by our local merchant shoppes."

Now that would be quality game-play, and could draw in foot traffic for other local businesses as well.

Sort of like those old Shopping Mall Anchor stores : Come by to visit Sears, but visit all the other little shops while you are there. :)
