Thank you DarkStarr and the whole dev team for such comprehensive and transparent feedback.
I'm guessing I speak for a lot of the community when I say that life is governed by "x days until next release....!!!"
The game is getting more fun and awesome with each release - very hard to wait until the next one!

I'm glad Portalarium don't have to suffer what is currently playing out for Star Citizen. Even the Guardian himself has not witnessed such a bloodbath O_0

    DarkStarr,

I didn't see anything about allowing basements placement, are we going to be able to do it this year?

Goal for basements is currently R11 but we are trying to pull it in sooner

OooOoooOOOOooo! Thank you DarkStarr for verbalizing what is to be expected. I'm hoping for R7, that there will be a unified/official announcement board where the in-game events are happening. Or perhaps an in-game command /events to show an event list and coords, maybe even the town crier sharing gossip on player events. I saw the party selfies and am jealous. :p Perhaps a player/moderator can be a touchpoint for announcements that can make a sticky thread. Would be alot of help for new citizens that are not familiar with UO in general yet, and would like to participate in social events.

DarkStarr not a huge deal but out would be interesting to know when we'll see banking added in. I'm guessing it doesn't matter much until you have the servers up all the time but hopefully by the end of the summer that is the case.

I am 100% thrilled there will be map encounters, random or roaming. I was hoping this would happen :D

I am not a huge fan of blind random encounters ala JRPG myself, but they do serve a usefull purpose of making travel a potentially risky business rather than "well, I will just avoid mobs, screw preparing!", usually going out in the wilderness on a fantasy game is not something people normally do, or at least NPCs keep telling you to watch out.

If done right, this system also avoids max level players farming low level creatures. I don't think showing small animals on the overland map is a good idea for the sake of performance. Big animals like dragons should appear, big packs could probably show up as well, stuff that you would see in the distance like smoke, fire and lights should appear, create a well populated map you have a overland world that is almost as good as a 1 to 1 map.

Avoiding encounters, with the hex system I think it could be douable. For example, you could have the scene load automatically, once it loads you spot the badies in the distance, they may be charging at you already or in a alert state. Anyway, you could still have the choice to engage (for rewards) or escape exiting the hex by running back. You take no damage but you backtrack a little on the overland map since you did choose to run back.

Hopefully the random encounters will be rather seldom otherwise it could become annoying. Also rather seldom random encounters would make them more special.

But still no word on weather effects and a day/night cycle on the overland map and how we move around on the map?
What about weather in the scenes? Wasn't this planned, too?

VERY promising quarter ahead! Feels almost accelerated compared to the previous one.

The obvious big boy, overworld, has the potential to radically change the game. I'm also stoked to see where we will be going with less glamorous, but oh so important stuff like NPC collisions and schedules, animal quality, encumbrance systems etc. And of course character hair animation... no more lego hair! :)

Sadly I'll have family visiting from out of town during R7. Is it wrong to skip out on a family reunion to check out a prealpha?

Since payment plans have been extended to next February, that probably means a March 2015 release date. (Remember that payment plans were originally scheduled to end in September with an October release date.)

@DarkStarr - Does that sound about right?

I was under the impression that everything you can pick up was going to be able to placed on the ground and in the house. is that still goin' live in one of the next releases?

PvP comes after combat. R9 will have most of the combat systems in place and R10 is polish. I'm guessing we won't see the PvP systems until R10 or R11. They will happen, but there is no point in PvP before combat is really in place.
