We were all 23 once. When I was 23, Ultima IX had just come out.

Yep. Still seeing the curious dip in the distribution. I attempted an explanation before, still think it might be correct.

Well then, happy birthday in advance! :)

@smack - maybe we could think of it as less of 'an older crowd' and more like a cellar full of fine wines, aged to perfection? ;)

We are totally in the norm.

According to the Gamer Asiciation 35 is the average PC Gamer age.

Actually we are out of a generation we had no parents playing pc games. And that is confusing us elder gamers.

    Recommend reading this:

    http://www.theesa.com/facts/pdfs/ESA_EF_2013.pdf

Must read. Proofs also that it is pure crap to say: The PC is dead.

What i hope our generation will do is improve playing games with the children.

Only 16% do that. That sux.

When i was 8 or 9, my dad was playing an MMO called legend of mir and I used to watch him play everyday untill he asked if i wanted a go, i jumped at the opportunity and he made me a new character, got it level 7 and that was the max level you could get for free, he paid for my subscription and we played together for many years. My point being, It was fantastic being able to play with him and was almost like a father son bonding thing you know? I loved it!

When I have kids I'll be sure to introduce them to the PC and the game I play and hopefully steer them away from the consoles, which frankly is full of loud mouthed kids abusing each other.

I played "Pong" on a green screen computer built from Radio Shack components. Memory was a cassette tape. I recall the upgrade was to a Commodore 64. I'll be 67 in August, although I'm still eleven years old inside my head! There is no future in growing up. Resist!

Heh. I wrote my first database program on a Tandy TRS-80 with cassette storage. It took 10 minutes to load, 2 minutes to enter the data, and another 10 minutes to store the data and close the program.

Oh, and I was cool and oh so modern. I had an amber screen.

And Mugly, I remember working at a place that had amber terminals. They were soooo much nicer than the green ones!
