Where will everyone hang out in SofA?

In UO it was the bank, a little odd I guess but having one key location was great for meeting folks and trading. Any idea what the equivalent will be in SofA, will there be one key location?

 

Good point! So far it has been in front of the crafting station pavilion, and the tavern. I suspect when live, it will be the tavern. But, there is something to be said about someplace utilitarian, like the bank in UO. It will be interesting to see.

 

Noone knows which cities will attract most people. It might be Brittany.. it's natural for people in general and new players to head for the capitol I think. Or it might be another city that has a great atmosphere which makes it a gathering place.

I suspect it to be an outdoor place and not a tavern, being indoors is simply too annoying and cramped for that to work out with the current layout. Unless there is a huge super tall hall/dome, where a birds eye zoomed out view works.

I hope things will be split up a bit so it isn't just one place. Would be cool if there is a general hangout area like brit bank, but things like crafting is split up into more specialised areas, so if you want to sell a "valorite hammer", you go to the place well known as the major blacksmith hangout etc.
Ofc that might just be different places in Brittany ..but I think it would be more fun if it was seperate places on the map so you had to travel to go to the specialised areas. Might be a player run town putting up 50 tailoring stations and becoming known as 'the tailoring place'.. that would be awesome.
Right now all player run towns seem to be either RP based or trying to cover it all tho.

 

I think the "Celtic Holdfast" is the perfect spot for everyone to hang out.

I expect this... I know I will spend a good amount of my time initially in Brit trying to make contacts with players and establish trade/trade routes.

For years it was Britain bank, until Malas came along. I think the combination of bank (with a forge and other services), coupled with a moongate and housing (and vendors) steps away made it a no brainer. So whatever location ends up being highly accessible to multiple aspects will become the "go to" place. Have been wondering about the same question myself.

 

Definitely Dame Lori's Bath House. I heard that's where the party was at.

From my perspective, from worst to best:
1) Single player
2) Player towns bought from the cash shop
3) NPC towns
4) Player towns earned through conquest
5) Anywhere but town.

 

I'll be hanging out in the house that cost me more than some countries annual household incomes ..... And still saying Vendor Buy Bank Gaurds!

 

I'd say wherever the devs, especially Lord British or Darkstarr, will be hanging out that day or evening. Which also might be Dame Lori's bath house.

But yeah, I'd say it might eventually be Britanny.

 

If the devs design the game correctly there will be incentive for people to hang out in many places, not just one.
