    I'm hoping for some tragic monsters, that can be faced directly but can also be overcome by acting with Compassion or Honor. Things like the Vampire, Rusalka (featured awesomely in Quest for Glory IV), wraith or banshee, etc. Mistreated animals (or even people) can also be saved instead of slain. This can even be used with the elves of Novia, if we actually get backstory on them beyond what happened in Blade of the Avatar.

    Agreed, I'd like to see something along the lines of the "corpse bride", you could fight the undead monster, but her former "husband" would turn out to be the real villain here.

    How about this one...and what do u think?

    Misery

    Misery was a female spider when the part of the moon shard landed right on her nest and impaled her while she was giving birth to her brood. The shard mutated her into an hybrid of insects that are more like a combination of a beetle, spider, and demon. Her brood became more like locusts but not because they were an combination of another type of insect that is extremely found of human flesh and the taste of blood, they quickly breed and spread and slowly infesting the world with her brood.

    Eventually Misery became the hybrid demon spider queen...

    Constantly looking for new types of animals and people to increase her brood...

    From local folklore, the Tikbalang - half human, half horse but basically a centaur in reverse. Tikbalangs are supernaturally strong & fast and are mischievous - known to leave travellers astray. Not necessarily malevolent (though some tales blame the creature for causing nightmares & insanity), the Tikbalang can be placated by asking it's permission to pass. Rain on a clear, sunny day is often taken as a sign of a Tikbalang marriage taking place.

    There are also tales of male Tikbalangs bearing away young women, and sometimes these women would bear their children. It is said that it was possible to make a Tikbalang do your will by clinging on to it's back despite it's frantic efforts to dislodge you until it gives up. There are said to be 3 special hairs in it's mane that are the source of it's power, holding on to these gives you the advantage when trying to tame one.

    A denizen of the Philippine wild woodlands & plains , there are also stories that Tikbalangs are fond of music and can - on rare occassions - be seen playing a musical instrument during the full moon..
