Ultima Online and Asheron's Call had handsdown the best combat mechanics

Without a single doubt UO PVP combat / macro system was the best ever made!

Everything about it actually! They way you moved your character to the way you were able to bind and make you own macros.

Even the channeling when u were to cast a spell, and the possibility to get interupted, so you would have to run around while casting spells, and not just sit still and press "1-3-5-3-2-1-3-5".

On a sitenote - the way you gained ur skills in UO "When using swords - swordsmanship / Using magic - Magery" that was the best! I am NOT a fan of XP and leveling!

    Tetris.

Easy to grasp combat mechanics, but more and more difficult to master. Having to be aware of your current situation, having to assess your opponents next moves, planing ahead under time pressure, and then the satisfaction when your plan finally works and you can kill multiple enemies with just one hit. :)

I like the combat mechanics of Tekken... it's easy yet complex... can't beat my son anymore in any version or iteration of that game... T_T

I really like TSW for the deck building and AOE combat and avoidance mechanics. It's a bit clunky but challenging.
