If this is true how Joseph put it ,,, I hope a hand is extended to Joseph when Relocation of resources are not as big a issue. Thank you Joseph for what you have contributed so far and anything you contribute to in the future. My emotional Response is How dare you @ Portalarium ... My I don't honestly know what the reason is or how necessary it is response, is Good luck brother and understand if it was not for you we would not be this far in our Journey.

@Lord Lorimus Rustic will already have a custom made Hearth of Britannia Tavern in-game. That's going to be awesome!

 

That is the joke alternate intro to Serpent Isle that was not voiced... Rustic went ahead and got it voiced, brilliantly.

I would like to personally thank Joseph Toschlog and wish him professionally and privately all the best for the future.

I hope he remains part of this community private.

 

The first HoB was my favorite SotA/Ultima event, so cheers to Rustic.

Such a significant event surely marks the end of an age in New Britannia.

Rustic, I am greatly saddened to hear this. You were the only Port employee I ever contacted as you came across as approachable, caring, funny and kind. To me you were the face of SotA. When business triumphs over loyalty the world gets a little darker. A important part of SotA has died for me.

Maybe we could have kick starter campaign to pay your wages?

 

A nice thought, but I must say this is pretty inappropriate. Crowdfunding should not be used to keep people employed.

Crowdfunding keeps lots of people employed...

As to whether it is appropriate, that is entirely subjective.

 

This news is very unexpected. Kudos to Joseph for showing a ton of class, grace, and professionalism. From my point of view he was and is a very important part of SotA's development and forever apart of it's history. His efforts to create and run the Hearth of Britannia telethon, and HoBLotH were big turning points for me in believing that SotA's community was very real and worth investing ridiculous amounts of money into something that is just a "game". You could suggest his efforts and persona as Rustic Dragon raised more than enough funds to pay for his salary, but whom am I to know or judge? What I do know for me is his love and passion for Ultima and SotA is inspiring, and has had a very positive effect my perception and outlook of the game's future. I hope that no bridges are burned so that Rustic Dragon possibly can be utilized by Portalarium in the future.

Oh I get it: It was implied that Rustic was to be an ongoing, positive and productive community leader of SOTA but that integral and fundamental feature has now been cut and he will now only return for a meagre $100,000 stretch goal?

 

All I can say is.. just think that now HoB can return to it's form and give us his updates of Britanian affairs from Rustics new/old home.
