Thinking of buying, but no friends to play with.

    Hello, I'm a ''veteran'' in mmo. Got really tired of all the triple As MMO. Really loved FFXIV but it have so many weekly restriction because it's base on Sub model, I couldn't take it anymore.

    So instead I thought, why don't I support an alpha game by playing and give feedback. Maybe it can grow into something I can immerse myself in. And Shroud of the Avatar looks really promising.

    But the problem is, I don't have anybody to play with. Is there anybody who want to be my friend and get me into this?

    I don't think you will find it hard to find people to team up with, its a very friendly group of gamers so far ^.^

    I wouldn't worry about that my very first day here i added 5 people on my friendlist (and it's pre-alpha).

    When the game will launch you will probably have zounds of buddies.

    1 thing tough : if you used to mmo such FFXIV you will find out that this is (and gonna be) much different, basically this is more sandbox oriented and less "player babysitting".

    I mean you won't find question marks above people heads, you gonna have to talk to npcs by yourself asking stuff by direct questions. You won't find arrows on your map cause there is no map :D.

    I personally like that cause it feels more real, also some features might be added in future stages, maybe a minimap ala Ultima Online.

    Richard Garriott (creator of the Ultima series and Father of SOT) himself said he adds everyone he meets to his friends list when he enters SOT and he encourages people to do the same.

    but on a side note if you do like hints and stuff and don't enjoy spending hours and hours looking for something there will be guides and such on line you can follow even when ultima online first came out and the internet was just getting started you could find guides and walk throughs online with in a day or so or a week
