How does one repair weapons or armour? I'm only at Adv Level 7 and can barely just manage to kill a normal wolf or skeleton. My first Solace Bridge sword degraded to durability zero, so I'm using a rusty iron sword that I looted from a skeleton. I still have my original clothing. I hesitate to spend the little gold I have (around 400) on better weapons and armour until I know that I can preserve them. The user guide mentions a repair kit available from merchants, but I haven't found any yet.

Don't bitter with repair kits. They cost 100g and doesnt repair fully.

Its better to gest up early and often.

Go to the castel in owels head, their is a open market. To the right of said market their is a stone building with a merchant. He will meet all your armour and repair needs. Each repair kit will only repair 10 pts so it could become spendy.

I hope that later we can have a NPC repair person.

Later it would be also good to have certain players that are specialized in repairing, to use their "services"

Took me a few hours, gathered about 25 iron ore. Made some iron bars and ingots ( 4 ore per ingot or bar ). Then made a iron hilt, iron longsword blank, iron longsword blade, then finally combined them for my first Iron Longsword. That was a lot of work. :)
    Now to tackle armor.

Repair kits are now more viable as an option. They now provide a 50 point repair instead of 10. So for 200g you can be fully repaired. That puts it line with buying items to replace the broken ones.

They are sold by different vendors, Handel has some for example.

Hmmm... if fighting to get looted gear is a good solution, I need to improve my fighting skills. I will post a new question about fighting. :)

Well I was wondering the same thing but now I know what to do if I find a nice weapon I want to repair. I'll use the stuff I find for now. Just created a character and got my Pilgrim Hat from the quest. It was a bit of work since I'm only lvl 1 but I did it so I'm in a good mood. It was the first time I really played the game and I liked the experience. The repair thing should be easier though like at a blacksmith or something. To have the skill to do it would be cool also. Looking forward to playing more tomorrow night.

The repair kits were greatly improved with this last patch in R12. They fix 50 durability points.

It would be nice if NPC blacksmiths could repair your gear, or you could in crafting yourself. Player blacksmiths would be more in demand for repair.

I know there is an argument to constantly swap gear to increase crafting, but they also want items to have history.

As a very new player, repair kits are TOO EXPENSIVE. I spent all I had on 2 kits and was seriously disappointed when it didn't even repair my sword fully. Not cool. Please reduce the price or increase the repair to full. Thank you.

I repaired my sword today (new player) and it only repaired 20 durability. Did they reduce it from 50?

    Welcome Elirion,

And yes, they have adjusted it.

When crafting comes in later releases players will be able to repair things. That should fix it up.
Till then, sometimes its better to simply switch instead of repair.
