At level 50 nothing is hard so far... I can solo a couple liches at same time.

I've become bored with the content. I certainly hope release 14 comes with advanced level content.

Ghosts are cruel, tougher than a lich takes more than 1 person to kill gives on 50 exp and no loot. Not complaining just saying.

Frankly, I find it amusing that skeletons give me Ectoplasmic Residue and ghosts don't.

    Also, ghosts don't need pockets.

Maybe they'll be guarding treasure :> It doesn't have to be on their body.

Or maybe they'll be guarding some passageway, or just be a life and death situation that you have to overcome. Not everything in the game is for farming. :>

    But yes, more exp needed...

The idea that there will be boss monsters that require parties poses an interesting problem for a game that is also billed as single player.

It's OK. They'll add old-style Provocation to the game and we'll make the boss monsters eat each other in single player.

This somehow reminds me of Daggerfall. I had to explore an orc fortress but I did not encounter one orc. Instead there were Vampire Masters and Liches everywhere.
I think this was the point I quit Daggerfall. Coming from Pen & Paper RPGs and having read many fantasy novels I was expecting a Lich or Vampire Master to be something unique. A really powerful monster that would maybe be the "boss" of the dungeon and not one of the run-of-the-mill enemies you enounter around every corner.

The same with SotA. I hope that Liches will be rare creatures that you only encounter as some sort of "boss" of a dungeon. Right now a Lich basically is nothing more than a kobold. it just looks different and has some other abilites but it is nothing special.

I swear Lichs were a piece of piss in UO and Lich lords were best avoided, maybe we'll see tought versions of lichs. Deceit Level 4 gave me nightmares.

Coming from the programming world, they could easily setup the game to nerf the boss some if person is in SPO. So a party wouldn't be required.

The thing they call control points, could that be considered 'boss fight' in a way?

Not if we have hirelings :>

Though also there's a difference between monsters that are extremely difficult as a solo player and require some tricks and tactics to beat, vs. monsters that are impossible to beat. Hopefully the combat mechanics will be flexible enough that they'll allow players to throw curveballs, too.
