Relief Terrain - is SotA using this Unity asset?

    It is a tessellation tech, which is great, you can get this free using DX11, but obviously that has platform considerations.

    This would make more detailed "non" pixel shader trick relief "maps", but at the cost of triangles. It would definitely need to have a switch or a slider for low end machines to flick off.

    I take it back, it only tessellates in DX11. Everything else is shader(s).

    They can do that themselves, cheaply.
