I don't know what to get next!

So, my package level pretty much has my account set in terms of pets, homes, items, etc.

I bought the tool packages and some cloaks last week, and now I'm looking at the stretch goals.

Sure, they all have an appeal.....although I am a little disappointed that Dwarves aren't considered as a playable race, I'm sure there are reasons though (maybe in the distant future).

I'd like to get them all and would if they were closer to being met, and since they apparently will never close, I can always wait. I think I might like to get one or two this weekend, depending on if Star Citizen puts some limited ships up this week which i hear they are, so I might limit to one.

The obvious choices for me, would be either be the mounts, elf, or open placement. Mounts are primary, as what's an RPG without the ability to ride a horse, but if it's never met, then I really don't have anything, so maybe the Elf / home placement would be better? Boating around could be neat also, but that, like all of these are a long way off from being met.

that makes me a sad panda.

 

Quite the dilemma. The "long-terminess" of those stretch goals makes them seem impossible. I got the black foal and I'm thinking of some elf stuff.

 

If people don't buy the items because they're worried the goals won't be met, then they will never be met. If enough people start a snowball rolling, who knows?

Either way, those goals will be unlocked in future episodes some day and you're still getting items for your purchase.

 

oh, well, if we're going get them anyway...suppose i can get them all over time.

this is one of my concerns, the dev team size (which is how many, i know it's small, but don't know a number), and the budget. I mean, MMO's typically need 100 million. this is at 5, and release is supposedly this year right?

It looks like there is a current list and bios for each dev on the team on the main page. And that 100 million mark probably accounts for some bloat and mismanagement. These guys and gals are doing really well with the resources available, and you gotta figure Portalarium has got to have some extra income from their poker game that we aren't accounting for. /shrug

 

Which is exactly why they have set up the stretch goals. They know they can't do these things at the current budget, hence if people want them (enough to pay), they could hire additional members just for that very specific task with that specific amount of extra money.

that is a really small team for a game of this scope, although I do like what they've done so far.

it probably does, and also advertising was probably a lot of that budget.

Buy whatever you think you'd like if the goals were met. If everyone does this then the goals will certainly be met, and it'll be awesome.

 

If I could financially afford it I would buy one or maybe two of everything just to help the game out, but as a disabled vet this isnt possible, so I settle for trying ot achieve my goal of making it to citizen status before june.

Hi scruffycavetroll. So do you have a pledge you purchased or are you just purchasing add on items from the store that you also want. You don't have to say if you don't want. You probably know this already but you get almost all the rewards from tier levels
below you except for exclusive founder rewards. You get the benefactor cloak on the $55. I have purchased add ons also like I got the christmas tree, some stretch goals, not all yet but I will get them, and I am most sad I did not get Richards birthday cake, it is so beautiful
to look at in the game. Wow the deatail of it.

 

I'd buy more, stretch goals and add-ons, if I knew that combat would be dramatically changed. I love 75% of the game, but could never play a game with combat like it is now.

 

yeah I have strong issues with the combat in its current stage myself, but as this is a "pre" alpha I have hopes for a much better combat system to be instituted

 

I really enjoy the combat system and am saddened that so many don't XD

 

I like it also. I do think it could benefit from some polishing though
